Victoria Scofield My future husband, whoever he is, can blame my brother-in-law for introducing me to Jane Austen when I'm swooning over Mr. Darcy and Mr. Knightley. I'm probably going to have a Pride & Prejudice themed wedding. He should just be glad I don't force men to watch girly movies with me.

Dana I just recently re-read P&P for about the 5th time and could not contain my excitement! I absolutely love Jane Austen and everything related to Pride and Prejudice! I can't get enough of the BBC version- it is such an amazing adaptation. For all of you Jane Austen addicts out there, I would highly recommend A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter by William Deresiewicz- he takes all 6 of her novels and discusses them in terms of the lessons you can gain from each novel. It gave me a deeper admiration for all things Austen!

Sounds like an interesting read, I will add that to my list. Thanks for the heads up.

The same with me Masterpiece Theater was who introduced me to some really good books... I still watch this every week...

Golnaz Ohhhhh Yes, I did and does not end...

About the worrying about your obsession: don't. The book is a work of pure genius. That is the only real explanation I can give you. The book is the perfect mixture of real and magic, obstacle and triumph. Austen knew how the world spins around the one person you want to be with, how human hearts beat, how women see through one lens, and how men fall hard. There is a perfect blend of emotion and reservation and the perfect plot. This is a book worth obsessing over. Nobody should worry for loving a book like this.

Susana Totally did!! Totally addicted to the series with Colin Firth, so much that I bought the special edition book with pictures of the series on it :) Such wit, love the dialogues, the characters, the way it transports me over time...

Susana It's a great book, Jonathan! I bet many guys already read it and loved it! :) I know a few that love the series.

Rintoulfan I'm beyond obsessed. I don't think I'll ever be able to get married. I'm hopelessly in love with a fictional character.

D.M. Cherubim My college English Lit. professor was in love with Pride and Prejudice. You could see it in his eyes, it was in his voice when he spoke of it, and he lit up anytime anyone ever asked him anything about the book. I confess, it's contagious when someone is so enthusiastic. I love the book too.
