I don't think so. I think that the book I read she used the same medication/skin darkening regime that Griffin did. I also don't remember a lot of "soul sister" stuff in it. But then again--except for what I wrote I really don't remember much. I do know that I'd thought that Griffin's book was much better.
She also wrote In Their Shoes: A White Woman's Journey Living as a Black, Navajo, and Mexican Illegal.
Hum, then I'm going to go with that is the one. Especially since that is one of the scenes that really stuck in my mine. Thanks.

Pretty basically, that's what I remember about it, except that one of the husbands of a woman that she's cleaning for tries to rape her, insisting that since she is a servant its his RIGHT to have sex with her. She does fight him off, and leaves him really upset that she's not willing to have sex with him.
