"In the book it says, "...but that was nothing compared to the screaming pain in my shoulder." This is an example of imagery a shoulder cannot scream, but it gives us an idea of how it feels. It appeals to sound since we hear screams and that is the description given to us." Oct 26, 2020 03:10PM

"The main character is Hideki. He is an Okinawan who was drafted to basically the junior Japanese army. He is a teen and his family had left the island for safety. He constantly thinks of the spirits of his ancestors that guide him. He doesn't want to be in the army and deserts as soon as he can. He is somewhat brainwashed by Japanese propaganda but he soon finds the truth. He has a sister out there that he must find." Sep 29, 2020 12:08PM
