With the first 2 chapters down, i have a lot to say, but I'll be brief.
Dune doesn't really FEEL like your typical sci-fi story, at least so far. Frank Herbert eschews the expected arduous explanations and techno-babble for something more immediate, personal, & mystical. Some things seem alien, yes, but feel humane & even relatable.
