For long minutes I refused to kiss her wound, the kiss that makes the pain go away. I wanted to teach her that you don’t do that, it’s dangerous, only Mama does it, who is grownup. Mama.
This doesn't sound as bad as the scene in the movie. For long minutes she refused to kiss the wound. It is not that crazy scene with the girl pleading and the mother bringing her hands to her head and totally ignoring the girl. If I had written this and someone else transformed it into that movie scene, I would be upset.
