And 700 pages? is Dan Brown trying to kill me?

"Notes:
(1) I just received my pre-order copy today! It arrived in perfect condition.
- My faith in Amazon fulfillment has been temporarily restored following the poor state of the last book I received by mail.
(2) I must say, "The Secret of Secrets" has to be the most Dan Brown title to ever Dan Brown.
- You'd almost think it was a parody.
(3) Nearly 700-pages? Is Dan Brown trying to kill me?

(1) Gee, if I want to finish this before the year ends, I really need to pick up the pace! Fifty pages every two days isn't going to cut it.
- On top of being a slow reader, I'm a chronic notetaker—which, while a boon for these updates, more or less doubles the time it takes to finish a book.
- Also, I know there are people eager to hear my full thoughts. Apologies for the wait.

Notes:
(1) I only really have a vague idea of what this series is about, and solely from reading blurbs. Otherwise, it's nothing I'm naturally inclined to read.
- I'm reading it simply because it's one of those series that you sort of have to read if you're any type of comic book connoisseur.
- It's broken through the mainstream enough to be popular among non-comic readers." — Aug 24, 2025 05:15PM

Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face.
The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown.
The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll look down and whisper "No.”
