"I had gone through the example of Daryl Davis before, but this time - going through the videos of Anthony Magnabosco - made me understand his street epistemology - and how he builds rapport at first - and then uses a variation of the socratic method - in a partnership kind of way." — Mar 17, 2024 01:52AM

You must understand that when you are writing a novel you are not making anything up. It’s all there and you just have to find it.

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place and I don't care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!”

“Hollowness: that I understand. I'm starting to believe that there isn't anything you can do to fix it. That's what I've taken from the therapy sessions: the holes in your life are permanent. You have to grow around them, like tree roots around concrete; you mold yourself through the gaps”

“But I did become sadder, and sadness gets boring after a while, for the sad person and for everyone around them.”

“When a creature has developed into one thing, he will choose death rather than change into his opposite.”

“It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward.”
