On The Horizon: NerdCon Stories 2016
Hey there everybody,
Some of you may remember a little thing we did last year called NerdCon: Stories.
Some of you might remember because I wrote a blog about it. Others of you might remember because you actually came to the event.
For the rest of you: Nerdcon is a convention I started with Hank Green and his team. We wanted to start a new convention that focuses on storytelling in all its forms.
And so we did.
And I’m not going to lie to you, it was pretty great.
We brought in podcasters, mu...

Pat at PAX
Hey everyone, Amanda here! As has become tradition, I’ve hijacked the blog to let you know about Pat’s schedule at a con, this time PAX West.
PAX West is one of the cons Pat almost always hits, primarily because there’s usually a live game of Acquisitions Incorporated, the D&D campaign run by Chris Perkins for Jerry Holkins, Mike Krahulik, Scott Kurtz, and Pat.
He’s also usually there because we’ve started making Pinny Arcade collectible pins, like the Eolian Talent Pipes, and the What Ho! pi...

Podcasts Galore….
Heya there everyone,
Things are busy but good here in Rothtopia. Emphasis on busy. I have writing to do, projects to manage, e-mail to ruthlessly prune back, a relationship to enjoy/maintain, kids to cuddle, charity coolness on the horizon, and secrets things to work on….
Not to brag or anything, but I would like to say that on any given day I consistently manage to do at least two of these things. Sometimes three.
Unfortunately, that leaves little time for blogging. Which is a shame, as I en...

GenCon 2016: The Happening
Heya Folks,
I posted my schedule for GenCon a few weeks ago because a few of the events I’m doing require tickets (Typically free tickets) and I wanted to make sure my people got their hands on them before they sold out.
I was right in being concerned, because a few things *are* already sold out, but we’ve got a lot of other festivities going on, so I thought I’d share with you a list of things you can do here in Indianapolis, with or without me.
The rest of my Con eventsSince a few things...

Cardboard, Malibu, and News about Tak
Hey there Everyone,
Today I was planning on sharing some of the adventures I had at San Diego Comic Con. I was going to talk about my first year as an official Guest of Honor there, include links to videos of some of my panels, and maybe even fess up to the fact that I drank some rum and did a *little* bit of drunken tweeting.
(Also? My very first Standee. Cartoonified by Nate Taylor.)
But other news takes precedence over a chatting about how I goofed off at a convention. We have some info ab...

Acquisitions Inc: The Web Series
The problem with taking a break from the blog, is that the longer I stay way, the more I feel like I need to write something really good when I come back. I feel like I need to make some big announcement or tell some sort of touching story or something like that.
But here’s the problem: writing something good usually takes a lot of time and energy. And I usually taking a break from the blog because I’m too busy, or exhausted. Or both.
So I’m lowering the bar here. Just letting you know about...

Geeks Doing Good: Foxen Nightlight, Draccus Plushy, and BatManda
Hey there everyone. As I write this, our Geeks Doing Good Fundraiser has been running for about four days, and we’ve raised about $97,000 so far to make the world a better place.
However Because we only go for a week, this means the fundraiser is more than halfway over. It’s ending on Monday, June 13th.
That means if you want to jump in and buy some of our book or game bundles, you better do it soon. Ditto if you’d like to help us spread the word to your geeky friends and family.
Today I’m go...

Geeks Doing Good: A Birthday Coup
Hey guys. Amanda herehijacking the blog again.
See, I think it’s time we start a little coup here. I’m forcingmy way into the blog via hotel wifi for what I think you’ll all agree is a very good reason: Pat’s birthday.
See, Pat doesn’t want to talk about it, and he’d definitely never tell you about it himself. It’s just not his way. But Pat is very important to me, and I want him to have an excellent birthday. One where he gets exactly what he wants out of the day.
What he really wants, more...

Foreshadowing: Geeks Doing Good
So for the last two years, we’ve run a summer fundraiser for Worldbuilders called Geeks Doing Good. It tends to happen near the begining of June, and it only lasts for a week.
*Because* it only lasts for a week, it can be easy to miss. So today I thought I’d throw y’all a heads-up about it launching next week.
It’s especially important for me to give y’all some advance notice this year, as I’m going to be traveling back from Phoenix ComicCon with my family on the 6th, so I won’t be able to m...
