I am happy to announce that I have retired from my 40 year career as a system and software engineer. I am now a full-time author. I am currently finishing Hell Holes 3: To Hell and Back and hope to have a version ready for editing and beta readers by the end of June.

I recently published a technical, non-fiction book titled The Simulation Theory of Consciousness. It argues that as with humans, every cyber-physical system that executes a simulation of reality (e.g., you autonomous car, autonomous UAVs, robots) is conscious/sentient in the sense of being subjectively aware of the simulation.

My book, The Secrets of Hawthorne House, just won the 2019 Readers' Favorite silver medal in the young adult paranormal urban category.

My new book, The Secrets of Hawthorne House was launched October 1st. It is a teen paranormal mystery about an unlikely friendship between two 15-year-old boys from two VERY different families and cultures.

I have just completed the manuscript for a young teen paranormal novel, The Secrets of Hawthorne House. The book is currently being edited and the cover art will be produced next month. I am currently looking for beta readers.

Fifteen-year-old Matt Mitchell was having the worst summer imaginable. Matt’s misery started when his mother was killed by a drunk driver. Then Matt’s father moved him and his sister to a small town in rural Indiana, as far as his grieving father could get from the ocean that Matt and his mother had loved. At the new high school, Matt became the new kid who three bullies were determined to make miserable. And then to top it off, Matt learned that the recluse who lived in the dilapidated Victorian mansion next door was none other than Old Lady Hawthorne, the town’s most infamous murderess and witch. Matt’s terrible summer was turning into an awful autumn when something quite unexpected happened. Old Lady Hawthorne’s niece and her three children moved in next door, and Matt met Gerallt.

The Hollywood producer, Michael Chamoy, has acquired shopping rights to my Hell Holes trilogy and is hiring a writer to create a script and movie treatment with the goal of turning the books into a major feature film. Odds are still slim of it ever becoming a movie, but I will remain hopeful. The script should be done in four to six months.
