Backlist

Well, I wrote a lovely blog at Storybroads.com about backlist publishing and I was going to copy it here, but the new software won't allow me to be lazy. It doesn't inspire me enough to rewrite the whole thing, particularly when I have a book to write, but it's worth checking out.

This is Why I Write

So Crusie sent Lani and me an email yesterday which set off a whole bunch of thinking. If I could choose what I'd do for the rest of my life (or even for a couple of years) and have no repercussions, financially or in terms of future career options, what would I do? I'm having a little trouble getting started on the new book, I'm feeling like I'm juggling too many things, and I'm basically not accomplishing anything and feeling guilty about it. So if I didn't have to feel guilty, what would I...

Working

There are just so many things to be writing, and never enough time to do them. I'm getting into the second book in my trilogy for Montlake. This one is entitled NEVER TRUST A PIRATE, which sounds like it's a little too cute for me, except it came directly from the mss. of the first book (which was called AFTER THE STORM, but now, to keep a theme going is NEVER KISS A RAKE. The third will be NEVER MARRY A VISCOUNT.) I'm thirty pages in -- once I get going I'll get going fast. Maddy hasn't even...

Brave New Word (Again)

So, some evil hacker decided to mess up my website, costing me a fortune and a great deal of frustration, and even though the Divine Mollie managed to move the site and get it up and running I still wasn't able to get into it. Everything is very different and I'm rather driving blind with this whole thing, but hey, I'm easy.

I've been massively busy in the last few months. I finished the first book of the Russell Sister series I'm writing for Montlake (Amazon's romance imprint) and it'll be ou...

Present Time!

Okay, I know, I'm never here. I need to revamp (accent on the vamp) this blog and actually show up here, because I'm a chatty soul with a lot to say. I'm talking with Mollie the Magnificent to figure out how to make this more lively.

In the meantime, I have an early holiday present. The second of the Maggie Bennett books is free for the next three days for the Kindle and Kindle apps (you can

MIA

I know, I know, I haven't been here for a long time. I've been busy dealing with life (my mother died, and I'm the last of the family, so I had grief plus a million things to take care of. I also played Sister Margaretta in a semi-professional version of Sound of Music, but that's a different story). I'll try to be here more often.
In the meantime, check out this link. It's a hoot. The

Madame Heap on Writer's Block

I went to Syracuse this past weekend to spend a day talking to their local chapter and had a fabulous time. For one thing, Richie drove me so we had a mini-road trip. We'd been longing for one but can't really afford to do it, so we had a great time. The hotel was nice, the bed was fabulous, and the company there terrific. Plus the weather on the drive home was exquisite.Oddly enough (or
