A Glimpse into the Two-Natured

Well here is my answer to those intriguing questions.
Check out Awakening the Lion coming soon from Amira Press.
Blurb:
Illiana and Belik set out on a journey to discover more about her ability that she gets from her father to shift into two different animals.
Ohanzee’s an outcast among his people because he can only shift into one animal instead of two. When he meets Illiana, he knows she’s the woman from his dreams and must have her.
Belik will do anything to make Illiana happy, but he’s worried what impact Ohanzee will have on her. Can she withstand another heartbreak? When crisis strikes Ohanzee, Illiana risks everything to save him. This calamity will either bring them together or break them apart for all time.
Excerpt:
Ohanzee found the spot where he normally worked. He leaned his back against the stone, gaining strength and peace of mind from the earth. From the outcropping he was hidden from view while he had a good view of the village. The treeline was to his left that led into denser foliage up the mountain. Once the earth had steadied him, he glanced up at the half moon hanging in the sky. The hawk yearned to be free, but he would not fly tonight. He closed his eyes and felt in his mind where his other animal should have been, but he was met with the dark barrier he always came upon. No matter how much he tried to go beyond the wall, he could never penetrate it. Frustrated, he opened his eyes and saw a black wolf emerging from the forest around the village. It did not see him, and he did not recognize it as anyone from the village. There were a handful of people in the community who could shift into a wolf. The largest he had seen in the village was Ranolo. The beast walked closer to him. All the while, the wolf was changing back to human form and finally became the woman he had led into the village. Ohanzee held his breath. Bathed in the moonlight she was the most amazing creature he had ever seen. Her copper skin glowed in the light. Her hair hung to her waist and covered her breasts. She was curvy and voluptuous. Ohanzee had never seen anything like her with full hips and thighs that made his mouth water. She seemed comfortable in her own skin, and he could barely take his eyes from her.Illiana bent down to get her dress, when she stopped. He heard her take in a long inhale. “I know you’re there. I can smell you. Come out.”Damn. Ohanzee stood slowly and walked out from behind the outcropping that had concealed him. Her dress was pressed against her body so it covered her nakedness. He wished she had not noticed him. He glanced at her once more and then back at the ground. “Sorry, Illiana. I didn’t realize that anyone else was out here. So you can shift into a wolf.”She giggled. “Ohanzee, you can look at me. Growing up in the flock you get used to being naked around everyone. We’re always flying around from place to place. And, yes, my other form is a wolf. Does it bother you?” He looked up and was dazzled by her eyes. Those same eyes he had seen in his dreams, all black irises with silver pupils in the center. He sucked in a quick breath and tried to find the words. He stared at her for a moment and saw she stared right back at him. “Sorry. No. It doesn’t bother me. There are those among our village who are also wolves. You surprised me because I didn’t know you were two-natured. You never mentioned it.”“It didn’t seem to be important. All that mattered was getting Marta here so she would be safe. Now she is.”Ohanzee thought about what she said, and he sensed Illiana was not telling the complete truth. “There’s more to it than that. The pendant you wear is one of ours. My sister thinks you procured it through trading. But . . . ”Illiana slipped the necklace over her neck and also tied her dress, exposing her luscious body to him once more. He tried to glance away, but he could not take his eyes from her, for the desire he had for her was unfathomable. He had never wanted a woman more. “But you don’t think so. You’re right.” She trailed her fingers along the chain and settled over the pendant. “I came here searching for people like myself. Thanks to you, I found them. I’m grateful that you showed us to your village. I’m in your debt.” She took his face between her smooth hands and kissed him lightly on the lips.Ohanzee could not help but press his lips into hers and return the kiss. Her scent intoxicated him, a mixture of the forest and the musk of the wolf. Illiana drew away quickly. Her eyes widened with surprise with the silver burning into his. “I—I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I thought . . . I’m sorry.” He backed away and ran into the forest. As he ran, Ohanzee shed his clothes and left them where they fell so he could take to the skies on wings. The air caressed him, but the taste of her lips did not leave him, nor did how the warmth of her body felt or how it had fit against him. She would be a wonderful fit if she did not have a mate—but she did. When she discovered he was different, Illiana would be like the rest, and he could not fathom the rejection in her eyes. Instead, he flew relentlessly until he was far away from the village.

Sex, Death, Cowboys, Vampires & Bigfoot

Well, these are only some of the subjects that I write about. Over the last seven years working with various publishers, and amassing more titles than I can count, I've come to realize that I love writing. I guess that would be obvious. Sinking into all the different realities I've created and the ones who linger still in my brain has kept me sane when dealing with the stress in my life. I'm guess that is the way with most writers.
In all this time, I've written books based on current selling trends and I've written the ones that I want to read as well. I have some that I even go back and re-read because those characters have gotten underneath my skin.

I've created cowboys and they were fun. Shifters are always great to do. I favor writing about shifters turning into ravens or dragons. Wolves are popular and so are cats so sometimes they take over my brain and become the center of a story. Vampires are dear to my heart for reasons very few people know and I try to create each one a little different than the last and it doesn't matter to me what the trends do, I'm going to write them anyway.
Through all my books, my favorite character is Azrael, my Angel of Death. He's more than grim reaper, he's also...well I'm not going to give away his story but you can read about it in Masquerade, Soul Reaper, Angelic Cravings, and Falling. But he has become more than just a character in my books, he has become a muse of sorts and demands to be put into as many plot lines as he can find his way into. Right now he pops up in over twenty at this point, lending a hand to those characters who need it.

And of course there is sex in the books. What is erotic romance without sex?
So if you like quirky, can stand hunky vampires, or an accident prone witch who falls in love with a Celtic god, peppered with supernatural menages then you and I will get along just fine.
Thanks for reading and enjoy!

How I Ménage

Every author is different as to how much sex they put into their novels. Me, I try to have my heroine be with each character once. Then, towards the end of the book, have them come together as a threesome. I don’t necessarily think they should be jumping one another’s bones as a three some in the beginning of the book. Granted this is depends on how long the book is going to be so it can be tricky, but I try to work with it.
I’ve been asked why I don’t write more sex into a book and sometimes it isn’t necessary. But hey that is just how I do it and others are more adventurous than me, but that is how I ménage. Some people have asked me if it is even a ménage if there is only one scene where the characters are together. Of course it is cause they’re together at least that is how I see it.
So what does this come down to? Well it means that I can’t please everyone when it comes to writing sexy books. I do my best and write what I think is feasible. And I hope that everyone enjoys it in the end.
That is how I ménage.

Haunted Head - A Poem

So I don't write poetry much.
Okay, I haven't tried my hand at it for years. But this has been kicking around my head and I decided to write it down to see where it led.
I wanted to share it and hopefully it isn't too bad. :)
Meandering the windy paths of my mind, The words are hard to find.Traversing Darkness, I uncover the beast, and yet,It cannot be tamed.
Rescue is futile. I’m already lost –Chasing nightmares twisted into brambled labyrinths that my feet are set upon.
The further I go, the longer the shadows become, full of monsters, half-thought creations, never come to full fruition. They stalk me, haunt me, scream their desires until I am left drowning.
The road ahead leads to a tunnel, but there is no light at the end.Never will it end this twisted cacophony of words that have become music to be devoured by my so called muses. They pull me forward on this alleged thoroughfare, trapped me with their whimsical charm until I am bound, tortured, forced to do their whim.
Locked at a desk, pen molded to my fingers. They deceive with pretty words, but I know the truth from what pours out of their warped maws.Only I - begging for release that will never come.

Guest Post: Elise Hepner- Furious Lust

Today we have a special treat with author Elise Hepner sharing her latest work with us called Furious Lust. Now this is an awesome and sexy, thrilling erotica novel. *Fans Self* if you love mythology and hotness, then you are going to devour this book. Check it out!
>Blurb:One mistake can change a life—let alone an eternity.
Tisiphone’s a revenge demon working for Hades in the Underworld torturing damned souls. When she escapes for three days under the sun with a human male, her leash is pulled tight. Tisiphone’s banished from the Underworld to Earth and stripped of her demonic powers. But that’s not what drives her horrendous nightmares.
Cithaeron’s human life was dedicated to revenge, until a demon walked into it. The wickedly intense, sensually destructive Tisiphone takes over his life with probing questions and haunting caresses. It’s over in a blink. After centuries of torture in Limbo, Hades brings him back for a judgment call that could change their intertwined lives—dead or alive.
Their future is in their past. Their lust can burn each other to the ground. But they’ve got to learn to work together or they’ll both go to Hell for good.
Excerpt:He moved me with confidence, our hips rolling from side to side while his breath eased across my neck. His clean cheek lightly brushed mine. Before I’d found any composure goose bumps dotted my arms and I sensed the curve of his lips against my ear. We worked as one to the techno rhythm that replicated the beat of my heart—my pulse plunged into a rather embarrassing quickness.
Through my leather skirt his warmth soaked into my flesh radiating body heat upward through my breasts. My nipples pebbled with sexual awareness, my belly twisting into a labyrinth of knots. His body was tightly pressed against my lower back so there was no question as to whether or not he was enjoying our dance. As his fingers guided the swing of my hips, for once, I’ll admit, I was captivated. While I wasted no time reaching behind me tracing up his arms, shoulders, and chest with my hands.
There was a certain seductive slowness that set him apart from my usual partners. He didn’t lack confidence. Much could be gathered from the way a man danced with a woman and my body wasn’t lying to me. I’d learned to trust my instincts. My partner was special.
His fingers slipped beneath my clingy, vinyl tank top playing along my ribs. When his hands tightened along my naked flesh our flirtation deepened into a more serious encounter. Despite his hold, I couldn’t avoid savoring his warmth. My first touch of cleansing fire, a comfort, and the key to my arousal. My fingers eased through his soft hair tangling in the strands at the nape of his neck. For the briefest of moments, I entertained the fact that he might go further, cupping my breasts and brushing his calloused thumbs across my tingling nipples.
But his hands squeezed tighter along my waist, though we moved as if nothing had changed between us. Would it be wrong to admit I enjoyed this edge? Whatever the game was between us. Even the subtle brush of my stockings against my inner thighs left me wide-eyed and wet between my legs. We were playing with fire.
His possessive, too hard touch promised an outcome I couldn’t fathom. A jolt of fear prickled beneath my skin. Though I faltered in my steps, the stranger only pressed harder against my hips with his chin casually resting on the top of my head. He never missed a beat, while I was shivering in his embrace.
My throat was constricted to a knot while my instincts shot off sparks inside my body. Yet, I was drawn to him. I moaned when his rough, long fingers slipped down beneath the top of my skirt idly following an outline of the waistband across my stomach—and lower. There was no going back now. Beneath the scent of sweat and alcohol that permeated the club, a familiar charred wood-smoke scent lingered on my clothing.
Home.
It was only a moment before I completely understood my situation, with a jolt that sent my mind reeling. My weak-kneed acceptance was replaced with ironclad knowledge of the man at my back. His almost unbearable heat lingered inside me. The scent of the Underworld clung to the strands of hair across my face. His unwavering grip. But perhaps, for a second—if I could take some more time to think—
Unable to fully process, automatically my arms dropped from around his neck and my hands clenched into fists. Realization left me cold and aching. Without knowing who I was facing, without my powers, it would be foolish to spin on him and attack. But my need to vent my rage left me seething. One of the most sexual moments of my existence in recent history had been dashed.
Whoever he was, he was working for them—the Underworld.
He’d stopped dancing against me and his breath against the nape of my neck spun me deeper into a confusing hole. It cannot be so. But when I broke our contact from hips to head glancing down the smooth line of my body—Apollo’s balls, I knew those fingers as if they were my own. Could I bring myself to turn around? To look him in the eye?
“Tisiphone,” he murmured low and cool against the lip of my ear.
I saw his face as if it wasn’t dark in the nightclub—as if my past was yesterday. His low, pleased voice triggered a darkness inside me that I was afraid to acknowledge. His fingers pinched into mine as I tried to pry his hands off me, until I softly cried out. But he let me go, letting me know with his continued presence at my back that he would have kept me there if he wanted to.
There would never be enough space between us—this wasn’t real.
I turned until I’d locked eyes with his pale gray irises—but they weren’t gray anymore—and not because of the harsh dancehall lighting. While I searched inside his shining coal black eyes, I sensed the trace of brimstone magic within him. His tongue casually flicked across his lips. An unreadable expression, even with neon lights spinning and whirling across him.
If he were truly of my old world, his skin would be shiny as an oil slick—black with dappled rainbows beneath the chaotic light play. In the night he’d be purely human in appearance until any ray of light caught his flesh. But there was nothing. Nothing that was recognizable but tan, human flesh like mine.
What have they made him? What have they done? Brimstone. Black eyes. No pulse. But looked human. His heat—the undeniable heat of those from the Underworld because though creatures there have no need to breathe or bleed, the temperature at the Earth’s core isn’t anything to trifle with on a whim. He carried the depth of heat that my kind engineered as a defense mechanism to live in the Underworld.
That was my answer. I couldn’t deny it any longer. I knew—gods, I wished I didn’t. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Not even a man who had unknowingly condemned me to live a life far from my sister’s for hundreds of years.
Demon.

Where did January Go?

I finished writing the second book in the Two-Natured series called Awakening the Lion, editing that, and sent it into the publisher. Then when my brain was not Swiss cheesed anymore, I started working on an angel/vampire book that is the second in series I'm working on. Plus pecked out my part of a joint venture I am working on with another other. And ended up doing edits for Awakening the Wolf as well.
Meanwhile I was doing this, hubby had bronchitis that lasted three weeks and is finally over. So he is healthy and we can move on into February.
Plans for this month are to:
1.Finish angel/vampire book and start on the third one which is about an angel of death and a gargoyle shape shifter
2.Start on third book in Two-Natured series
3.Work on outlines for two more horror novels in a new series I've got.
4.Try and stay sane.
If I can do that, then I'll resurface in a month and let you know.
I plan to go see Beautiful Creatures when it comes to the theater. And I've discovered a great band called In This Moment. They are new to me and I'm hooked.
Recently watched a movie called The Tunnel and it was pretty decent. I would recommend a watch. The same with Apartment 143.
Okay....Igor, one of the muses, is closing the castle door and locking me back in. At least until nightfall when I get to go free. I would say help me, but there's no point. I'm beyond the point of no return.
