This morning I was reminded of Ecclesiastes 3, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under Heaven…” It occurs to me there is also a time to change and a time to remain the same.

My wife and I are discussing a return to a city from which we moved, the reasons for which I won’t go into at this time. However, a part of our conversation was the need to dispose of our accumulated ‘stuff’. My wife has always been one to rid herself of items she hasn’t used in some time, and I am a pack rat. If I have something that might be useful ten years down the road, I keep it. When it comes to my keepsakes, I’m even more of a keeper.

Well, the days of us buying a large house are long gone because I’m now retired, and we are empty nesters. How much room do two people actually need? In order to downsize, some things just have to go and my pack rat tendencies must change. “A time to keep and a time to throw away…” ECC. 3:6 is a biblical directive I must now adopt as a way of life. It’s not easy.

Glory to God, He has provided well for us and His word is constantly full of wisdom and direction. I must put my trust in Him and change along with the changes in life that come no matter how hard we fight them. Control is not in our hands, control ultimately belongs to God for our best benefit. May His blessings flow.

False cases anyone?

In Mr. Biden’s inaugural address we heard him call for unity of our nation in order for us to move forward. To ‘move on’. I’m certain all the people who believe fraud did not occur in this election, despite all of the evidence to the contrary, found this appeal to be inspiring and heart warming. However, there are numerous reasons that unity will never happen, even under the best of circumstances.

First and foremost, the nation has witnessed the Democratic left demonize and try to destroy anyone and any social custom that disagrees with their agenda or opinions. Look back at the accusations against President Trump and Justice Kavanaugh that were widely broadcast by the mainstream media and later proven to be totally false. Trails of payments to the false accusers were unearthed, yet totally ignored by the media. I would point out how conservatives have been treated with social media when they posted evidence of the left’s hypocrisy and lies. Denials were attached to their posts, by Facebook and Twitter and if they persisted, they were blocked by those platforms. Having suffered such extreme abuse by the left makes unity nearly impossible.

One must also look at Mr. Biden’s and the left’s terms of unity, which is, adopt our opinions and policies in order to avoid punishment and abuse. If you doubt this, consider Maxine Waters’ call to drive conservative administration officials out of public places with crowd incivility. It’s a fact. Numerous other liberals have even called for re-education programs for conservative supporters of President Trump. Re-educate? In the eyes of liberals, this must be done to get conservatives to adopt far left philosophies, give up their fundamental beliefs. Fundamental belief is something most people will never give up.

This may sound obstinate, but a person’s fundamental belief is the brick wall that protects them from the total irrationality of the world. As a Christian I look to the scriptures in the Bible as the foundation of my view of the world. Personally, political ideology should be interpreted based upon its righteousness for its sinfulness. For this reason, I can never subscribe to the platform of the Democrat Party. Any party that supports abortion, the murder of the unborn, homosexual rightness or the suppression of human rights for the growth of power is part and parcel of Satan’s agenda.

Yes, those are strong words and any liberal worth their salt will label them ‘hate speech’, but I stand by them and will not back down no matter the outcome. President Trump was not perfect, but he has been the strongest advocate of God’s sovereignty in the White House in a long time. He brought the extreme left out of the shadows and exposed Republicans officials with liberal tendencies for what they really are. Now we have an accurate picture of the corruption in Washington and who is responsible. Thank you, God!

Unity is absolutely impossible. Conservative beliefs just cannot be reconciled with those of the left. We will always be at odds, but it really doesn’t matter in the final outcome. God is in control and His will is being manifest right now. I don’t understand it all, but I do know that ultimately God’s children will be protected and will see the government of Jesus Christ here on earth after the Tribulation. It’s going to happen. Keep looking up.
