One day after the conviction of former Chauvin, I ponder just how far our legal system has fallen under the sway of mob pressure and the threat of violence if a verdict does not submit to their ultimatums. Even acquiescing to their demands is no guarantee of safety for communities.

Chauvin was found guilty on all counts, but the radicals in Portland, Oregon still felt the need to riot and vandalize the city as a demonstration of their destructive power. Don’t forget Maxine Waters’ call for rioting if Chauvin was not found guilty, and she is not held accountable for inciting violence. Impunity because of skin color. These groups make ‘holy’ martyrs of individuals who were committing crimes at the time of their arrests and resisted the law enforcement officers.

Since early 2020 we have suffered intimidation by violent forces to achieve social justice, and let us not forget the panic caused by politicians and the media concerning COVID-19. Make no mistake, COVID-19 is real, but the actual threat is numerically slight. That sense of fear has caused extreme restrictions on public gatherings, especially church services, and the forced injection of some people in Los Angeles County, California.

I am appalled that sheriff’s deputies held people down to administer this gene therapy. No freedom of choice allowed! How did we get to this point in history and where do we go from here?

Only God knows our future, but I anticipate the continued destruction of our personal liberties by government agencies under the control of liberal-socialist Democrats. How can we put a stop to this trend when our Supreme Court, with a numerical advantage for conservatism, refuses to hear cases pertaining to massive voter fraud and the permanence of the Second Amendment?

I submit that the problems we face are not systemic, but are a sin-sickness of the heart. We are not turning to God to purify our hearts and teach every one of us to love our neighbors. Scripture is a firm foundation for our law and gives clear directions on the establishment of a fair and equitable society, yet we want to remove God from the public forum and honor a social system based on “Whatever feels good is right and just.” It’s not working and we need to wake up, not ‘Woke’ up.
