Hi Taylor!

I'm SO embarrassed to say that I just found this question. OMG. Apologies for the delay in responding. So horrible.

I was heavily inspired by the current Bolivia political climate. My entire family lives there and as the current president/dictator remains in power, the Bolivia that I've known all my life is slowly changing into a different and dangerous country. Look at what's happened to Venezuela, and you'll see a potential outcome for Bolivia. It's scary and horrifying.

So much of the Bolivian culture is in the pages of WOVEN IN MOONLIGHT. I am a weaver, I love to cook and so I wanted to infuse the story with as much of my upbringing into the narrative. I love Bolivia and my heart is breaking for where it is today, and so I wanted to write about it. I hope people will like Ximena (named after my mother) and her journey. <3<3<3(less)
