Give Books to the Girls of the Lower East Side Girls Club!
March 14, 2020
The LES Girls Club is stunning a huge new facility that offers art and career training, after school classes, physical education, roof garden activities, science lab, college application help, social work, travel opportunities, and more for the girls and young women in the community over on Avenue D in New York City.
You, my friends, sent them well over 300 books for the literacy program in 2018. But it's 2020. And most of those books went home with girls who didn't have very many of their own books to keep.
The club is staying open to provide meals and meet community needs, as of March 13, 2020. The new group of girls in the literacy program (and in the club, generally) NEED BOOKS. NYC public libraries are closed at present.
I put together an Amazon wish list. It's newly updated (March 2020) and includes requests from the girls and from the director of the program, recent bestsellers, titles from Marly Diaz's amazing list, books from the Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers lists, books from other reluctant reader lists, and more. It's super easy to buy the girls a book. Or ten! The address is on the top of the list, and SHOULD fill in automatically when you buy books -- but if it doesn't, you can see it there.
Thank you so much for helping create a book-rich environment for this community of amazing young women and the facility that cares so much about them. Click here to send books.

Come Hang Out on Instagram. Or Twitter.
Hi! I invite you to come hang out on Instagram, where I'm spending more time nowadays. Some samples from my feed are to the right -- and I'm trying to make the feed good fun. It's there and on Twitter that I do giveaways, give sneak peeks of upcoming titles, and share all my news.
The blog is still good for tour dates and stuff of that nature, but if anything exciting happens here, you'll hear about it on Insta or Twitter, pronto.
XO E
P.S. Genuine Fraud has a fresh new cover and the paperback is in USA bookstores now. My next book will be May 2020.

Back-to-School Book Giveaway
Teachers and Librarians:
It's a YA back-to-school book giveaway. My shelves are bursting, and if you're a high-school or middle-school librarian or teacher in the USA, and you want these books for your classroom or school library, I want to give my books to you! It's first-come, first-serve, till my shelves are empty.
WHAT YOU GET IN A PACKAGE:
Genuine Fraud -- signed. Could be an ARC (advanced reading copy), a UK paperback, a UK hardcover, or a USA hardcover
We Were Liars -- signed. Probably a USA paperback, but maybe UK hardcover, paperback, or special edition.
bookmarks -- a small stack of bookmarks for your students.
HOW TO REQUEST:
Send an email to MsELockhart @ gmail.com with the subject line BOOK GIVEAWAY. In the body of the email, just say your job title and the school at which you teach. Then include your mailing address! That's it.
If you have students who speak a foreign language, go ahead and indicate that. I have a limited supply of foreign editions and if I have your language, I'll send you additional copies in that language.
I'll reply to your emails within a week and will let you know if a package is coming your way. Thanks for everything you do bringing books to your students.

PS: It's kinda fun to see the different covers. That's the UK paperback on the left, the US hardcover on the right.

Donate Books to the Lower East Side Girls Club
You all know I source books for their lobby book cart and their literacy program. You have helped us give MORE THAN 300 books to their literacy program using the Amazon wish list below. THANK YOU.
Now, it's time for presents! For the girls in the literacy program (many of whom are reluctant and struggling readers) I updated the list with requests from the girls, plus fresh bestsellers and goodies off the Quick Picks lists and other reluctant reader resources.
Send a book for the holiday season. I love you for it.

Genuine Fraud
Here's the Genuine Fraud book trailer. The book is in development with Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham for film, through their company A Casual Romance, in collaboration with Lionsgate Pictures.
Genuine Fraud is in stores, now. Order it here. The We Were Liars deluxe edition is also out -- and it has all kinds of goodies in the back, including new love letters.
Edited to say:
The main tour for Genuine Fraud is over, but I'll be at the North Texas Teen Book Festival and at Teen Book Con in Houston this Spring. Come say Hi!
Also, I write a young middle-grade series called Upside-Down Magic, using the name Emily Jenkins. It's co-written with Lauren Myracle and Sarah Mlynowski. Book 4: Dragon Overnight comes out Jan 30, 2018. Tour dates below. Bring the kids!

P.S.
There are cool symbolic tire-swing images on the all-text We Were Liars merchandise from Litographs.
Genuine Fraud Tour Dates
Genuine Fraud comes out Sept 5th, and the We Were Liars deluxe edition is in stores now. (It has all kinds of goodies in the back, including new love letters.)
I'll be touring this fall -- and doing events with some amazing authors. I would love to see you there.
What are the events like? You come, I chat, sometimes I chat with fellow authors. The other authors are listed below and they're all people I'm really excited to be doing events with. Possibly I'll read just a tiny bit from Genuine Fraud, and I'll definitely tell you about the book. We laugh, answer questions, there's a conversation. Then there's a book signing. You can bring your books from home but you should buy a book from the store if you can afford to, even if it's not mine, because bookstores depend on sales to keep hosting authors. I'll sign all books, old or new. You can come up for a photo and take a card or bookmark if you want a signature and can't afford a book at the moment -- no problem. We can take photos together. Chat a little more, maybe. It's a relaxed and cheery time, fun to share with friends who love reading. See you there! xoE
