Giving One of My Books as A Christmas Present?
If you are giving one of my books as a Christmas present this year, I’ve got something special I want to do. I will send an autographed bookplate you can give along with it! Bookplates will be mailed out Friday, December 14th (so please decide if you want to have it sent to your address or their address). I will mail out bookplates to the first 50 people who email me with an address to send it to. Send an email to [email protected]. Please specifiy the first name of the person who will be receiving the gift and the name and address where you want the bookplate mailed.
Advent Day 9
Hello! Sorry for the craziness the past couple of days!! I’ve still been doing my random acts of kindness (taking friends to lunch, extra tipping waiters, etc.) I’m so excited, though, that I have some fantastic news to share with all of you. Hot Blooded, the second book in the Wolf Springs Chronicles, is finally for sale in the US! Head on over to Amazon to grab your copy. For the Kindle version click here and for paperback click here.
I am so excited about this! Tomorrow I’m going to post a sneak peak from the book for all of you. I’ll also get you updated information on when it will be available on Nook. Have a great day everyone!

Hot Blooded
What do you run from?
Katelyn had only been in Wolf Springs a short time before she was bitten by a werewolf. And now she carries that creature’s curse in her veins. But she’s not alone. Wolf Springs is home to a hidden family of werewolves, the Fenners – who swear none of them bit her. Apparently there’s a monster on the loose – something wild and uncontrollable. And to make matters worse, Katelyn’s struggling to resist her own animal urges. Especially around Trick and Justin. Should she follow her heart – or her instincts?

Advent Day 6
Welcome to day 6! My most recent act of Christmas kindness was to let someone in front of me in line at the store.
I had hoped to have a big announcement today. It looks like I’m going to have to post about it tomorrow, though.
One of my favorite songs is Belleau Wood, a song inspired by the Christmas truce of WWI. The story of that truce always moves me and I’m planning on writing a book about it. I’ve found a short video on YouTube that some people have made recreating the events and set to the music. The song and the historical part of the movie start a little over 2 minutes in. Click here to watch it.

Advent Day 5
Welcome to day 5 of the Christmas countdown! Yesterday for my random act of kindness I gave extra in my tip to a hardworking waitress. Keep the suggestions coming for an end of season finale with the random acts and also please keep sharing your own random acts!
And now I have a surprise for all of you…something of an announcement you might say! Drumroll please (thank you Little Drummer Boy)…
Due to popular request, one way or another, I am continuing the Sweet Seasons series. The next book will be titled The Summer of Rice Candy and will follow Candace as she heads off to college. The book will be coming out in 2014. Merry Christmas to all you Zoners out there who can’t get enough of Candace!

Advent Day 4
I hope your month is going well so far! Thanks for all the great suggestions on things I can do to cap off my season of random acts of kindness. Please keep them coming! Yesterday I gave a Christmas present to someone not on my Christmas list because I overheard them say how much they really wanted something.
Congratulations today to Melanie! I’m sending her a retold fairy tale for her daughter.
I’ve LOVED hearing about the things you’ve been doing to help others. They’ve been very inspirational! Remember, a random act of kindness can be just about anything, no matter how small. It can even be an act of omission, like taking compassion on someone and not telling them off even when you really, really want to and giving them a smile or a soothing word instead.

Advent Day 3
Hello! Welcome to day three of my Christmas Countdown! Apparently this past weekend was distressing for a great many people that I know. Yesterday I gave up plans to relax (and if you know how rare downtime is for me that alone should make you gasp) to help out a friend with a problem and try to counsel two other friends. The funny thing is, when I was heading to bed totally exhausted I was frustrated because I thought I hadn’t done a random act of kindness for the day. Then I realized that of course those counted. Proof that you can be too tired to think straight.
For those of you who missed yesterday’s post, I’m dedicating myself to perform a random act of kindness every day leading up to Christmas and I’d like to hear about random acts of kindness you perform for others. Together let’s help share the spirit of the holiday! A random act of kindness can be anything, no matter how small, such as letting someone else in line in front of you or spending time listening to a friend who needs someone to talk to. There are all kinds of things you can do without spending a dime that will still make a difference in someone’s life today. I will be giving away prizes and goodies this year. Also, I’m looking for suggestions of an act of kindness I can do for a person or organization that will cap off my season of random acts. The person who submits the suggestion that I ultimately follow will also receive a very special gift. So, please, comment below and tell me what nice thing you’ve done for someone and what nice thing you think I should do for someone or something. Together let’s see how many lives we can touch this season!!
Congratulations to both Angie and bn100 who will be receiving copies of the song Little Drummer Boy by Whiteheart!
As some of you know, I was involved in an international scavenger hunt several weeks ago. One of the things our team had to do was put together a video with music and voiceover demonstrating a random act of kindness. To see the video my team put together, click here.

Advent Day 2
Hello! Welcome to day two of my Christmas countdown! Yesterday for my random act of kindness I called a friend who’s been having a very hard time lately to listen and cheer them up. I appreciated reading about Sarah K. and bn100′s recent acts of kindness so much that I’m going to give them both $5 Amazon gift cards. Keep up the great work!

One of my favorite Christmas songs is the Little Drummer Boy. My favorite rendition of it is by Whiteheart. Today I’m going to gift the song via iTunes to five people who leave comments on this post. I think this song is a perfect example of the spirit of Christmas and demonstrates that some of the greatest gifts are gifts of time, love, and talent.

Advent Day 1
It’s Christmas time! I’m so excited I can barely express it. I love this time of year. I love the lights, the music, the weather, and the renewed sense of wonder, magic, and spirituality. It is my sincere prayer that all of you will have the best Christmas ever this year. Now, I bet you’re all wondering what you can expect from my Advent Calendar this year! Well, I can tell you right now there will be a lot of surprises!
Christmas is a time of love and compassion and a celebration of the birth of Christ. In honor of that, this year, I’m dedicating myself to perform a random act of kindness every day leading up to Christmas. I’ll document my efforts here so you can all keep me accountable! In return, I’d like to hear about random acts of kindness you perform for others. Together let’s help share the spirit of the holiday! At Long Last, Vanquished Commentary Chapter 5!
Welcome to the commentary for Vanquished, the final book in the Crusade trilogy! If you haven’t snagged your copy yet click here to see your buying options and get yours so you can read along!
Make sure to comment on each chapter commentary. At the end of the book one winner will be randomly selected to receive signed copies of two of my books. Good luck everyone!
Chapter Five:
This scene we really wanted to show what Jamie was capable of in a fight by himself. When the fighting team consists of a vampire, a witch, and a werewolf, it’s important and often difficult to let the human fighters shine. Unlike Jenn, Jamie has been a warrior pretty much his whole life. More of his Catholic roots also come out while we see him fighting against impossible numbers here. That’s something that’s going to play a major role in the end for Jamie.
Jamie carries the deaths of a lot of people on his shoulders. We thought it was important to show how he uses that anger and sorrow when he’s killing the vampires, blaming them all for each person he’s lost.
Given the social importance of pubs in that part of the world, we figured having vampires take them over would definitely be a blow to the morale of the Brits, Scots, and Irishmen. Here Jamie gets to find out for the first time and his reaction is priceless.
For a long while we actually considered having Kate be a love interest for Jamie. When it came time to write this section of the book, though, our plans for Jamie had just changed.
We were excited to be able to have Father Juan and Grandma Esther team up. As soon as we started writing scenes with the two of them together it became clear that she was the one person he would truly be able to confide in.
We give a shout out in this chapter to Bram Stoker, author of Dracula. Nancy and I are both fans.
