I'm a multi-award-winning author and anthology editor from Melbourne, Australia. I write poems, short stories, novelettes, novellas and novels across the darker spectrum of horror, crime and noir. My latest titles are the deep-sea thriller novel Nightmare Reef and the collection The Broonie and Other Dark Poems.
My award-nominated titles include the novels Bodily Harm, Cretaceous Canyon, Body Farm Z, Contrition and Devil Dragon; the novellas Redhead Town and Thylacines; and the collections Figments and Fragments: Dark Stories and Liminal Spaces: Horror Stories. My collection Perfect Little Stitches and Other Stories won the Australian Shadows 'Best Collected Work' Award, was nominated for an Aurealis Award, and long-listed for a Bram Stoker.

Regarding a sequel to Contrition, I envisaged the story as a stand-alone, but if enough readers expressed an interest, I would certainly consider exploring the story further. I have a great fondness for the characters!(less)

I explored everything I wanted to with those characters, that monster, and their situation. I often get asked by readers of Devil Dragon - as well as my other novels and novellas - if I would consider writing prequels, sequels and spin-offs, but to revisit stories risks ruining them. If you like Devil Dragon, you might like my other creature-feature titles.(less)

My novel NIGHTMARE REEF is out now!

I'm happy to announce that Severed Press has released my novel, the deep-sea thriller Nightmare Reef.

The back-cover blurb:
The ocean is vast. The danger is ancient. And nowhere is safe.
For the Wagner family, sailing across the Pacific was meant to be the adventure of a lifetime. But beneath their ageing yacht, Nauti Buoy, something stirs—something thought extinct for millions of years.

Dreamcatcher by Stephen King
"Not King's best effort. Story drags and some characters seem unnecessary. The core group is excellent and the premise is great. 3.7/5"

Body Farm Z by Deborah Sheldon
"Why this book? I needed something for Aussie August. It was a pretty solid zombie book. It all takes place in one day and has an open ending. Love that. The author is from Melbourne, Australia and I love that she included a zombie kangaroo."

Oh, how I loved the beginning! Watching Ellie Arroway grow up and seeing her dedication to SETI felt enthralling. And then the novel devolved into lengthy, stodgy exposition dumps. Every character was nothing but a philosophical mouthpiece. Ugh, bumm ...more

It's easy to see why Robert E. Howard found inspiration in Lamb's work. Lamb's prose is muscular, vivid, evocative. His protagonists are principled and heroic, displaying the best of human nature. I enjoyed every one of these stories. That said, I pr ...more
