Reversed Polarity

I'm a guest at http://tcon.ca/reversedpolarity/ in Toronto next weekend.
A couple of items possibly of interest to writer/reader:
I'm reading Fri 21:30 - 22:00, Oak Ridges and there shall be TREATS!
Also, my Writers' Workshop: The Doctor Said What?: Sun 10:00 - 12:00, Gormley This will be a fun couple of hours working on dialogue and you needn't be a Whovian to participate! (NB there is a small fee and limited numbers)

Any photographers attending, of any level (and yes, your phone counts)? My other half, Roger Czerneda, is conducting a free con-long workshop on closeup photography. He'll be offering tips Friday 4-6, shoot your photos all weekend! then share photos and get critique Sunday 3-5 pm. There shall be TREATS! ::grins:: It's our thing.

Tis the season

Yup, when writing and page proofs (for the paperback version of A TURN OF LIGHT) and all other obligations happen to meet.
On the plus side, the garden's in, the house is cosy, and it's going to rain (or snow) the rest of the week.
Bring it on! I prefer to be busy and thrive on it. Give me too much time and I find all manner of ways to fill it up. Human nature, absolutely.
So, wish me luck. Watch in here, because there'll be treats incoming.
After all, tis the season to create!

Monday Monday

As usual, I've a list of a zillion things to accomplish on this bright and shiny day (that it's raining and dull is irrelevant to my writerly mood).
I've learned, over the years, not to fight this inclination to assume I can do it all, but to use my wild enthusaism for momentum. I will make progress along many fronts, most significantly on whatever catches my attention first this morning, but still. Progress shall be made.
What more could I ask?
(Okay, I could ask for sunshine, being fond and in dire need of a run outside, but hey, that's in the forecast.)
How about you? Are you a maker of Improbable Lists or far sensible than I? ::grins::

And so it begins ...

Hi Everyone. Back from the wonderful mini-tour, Albany-Baltimore-NYC, and, as usual, revved up creatively.
Nothing gets the juices flowing, for me, faster than being with folks enthusiastic about what's next. (Okay, there could be a tiny bit of "EEEK!" in the mix, but that's okay. I like the adrenalin.)
So now it begins. Writing. Writing. And more writing. YAY! I do have three remaining events this fall, but they are local and tremendous fun. Anything further afield must wait for the other side of my deadline for A PLAY OF SHADOW.
I've two commitments to fulfill before being 100% on PLAY, but both are short, creative, and important.
It's been a few years since I've had the chance to put all of my energy in one pot, so to speak. It'll be interesting to see the result.
I'll keep you posted!

My fall schedule

Because it's mid-August, the CNE is about to open, and thoughts in this hemisphere do turn to autumn (whether we want them to or not!)

I've workshops and signings and cons galore. Rather than list them, I've put them up at http://www.czerneda.com/events/events... complete with links and info.

Once fall is over, I shall enter writerly hibernation, otherwise known as fixating on the deadline that is spring. Whee!!! (For the curious, it will be winter in Marrowdell as I write.)

Hope to see you in Albany, Baltimore, or Toronto!

Where did July go?

I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering. Here, in Central Ontario, it was cooler than usual, lovely for sleeping, with enough rain to keep our ponds from drying out as they did last year. Yay! I would appreciate a warmer August, should it happen, for reading outside in the evening without need for a sweater. But that's pretty picky.
On the writing front, did a short sf murder/mystery in the subgenre I call "dawning realization of big oopsie." I've sent it out. If it sells anywhere I'll let you know. That took up a week or so. Then there were family visits (always joyful), work on the cover for A PLAY OF SHADOW. Matt Stawicki (http://www.mattstawicki.com) will be working on that this September! Goosebumplies!!!
The rest of my July? Poof! I know I worked on PLAY and other projects. Kept up with administration and sundry stuff. The month just flew by.
Hello, August!
