PHS' 75 Silent Auction to benefit Kathy Rodgers Lomax
Plano High School, Plano, Texas. Class of 1975
Many of you know I've been working on putting together a bid item for a silent auction that will be held at my high school reunion next month. The proceeds of the auction are going to help one of our classmates who has been stricken with a rare condition that has deprived her of the use of her legs. Months of tests, hospital stays and physical therapy have taken a toll on her finances. As the owner/operator of a mobile pet grooming business, she has been unable to work since earlier this year.Kathy is the kind of person who would help any of us if we were in need, so it is no hardship for us to help her now.
My idea was to ask a few writer friends to contribute a book or two for the auction. In a matter of hours, I had so many writers asking how they could donate both print and eBooks, that I was overwhelmed. How does one auction off a great number of eBooks? The solution was to purchase a new Kindle and load all the donated books on it. Then, some of the fabulous authors who sent downloads of their work, asked if they would have a chance to bid on the Kindle.
Well…after speaking with the lovely women coordinating the auction, the answer is – Yes!
Below is a detailed list of the content currently on the Kindle. There are, at this point, 45 books on the device, and the combined value of the Kindle and content is $268.35. More content may be added before the auction takes place on Oct. 8th.
How to bid on the Kindle –
Review the description of the Kindle and its content. (Listed below)2) Email your MAXIMUM BID (this is the highest amount you are willing to pay for this item) to this address – [email protected]

Six Sentence Sunday 9/4/11
Here's a little snippet from my latest release, book three in the Lothario series, LOVE ME TWICE.
Celeste was having a massage, until Sean arrived...
Oh what that man could do with just one finger. It ought to be illegal. Probably was in some states. His touch was so light he probably wasn't even leaving a trail of DNA behind. No evidence. Nothing to convict him of the crime. Thanks to the satin blindfold, she couldn't even claim to be an eyewitness, but her body knew. The traitorous bitch.

Winners - Sultry Summer Nights: Ignite Your Passions Blog Hop Tour
Congratulations to Beverly G. and Jennifer L. who are the randomly chosen winners from last weeks blog hop!
So sorry to take so long making the announcement. Irene shut down my power, and as of a few minutes ago, it is still out. Thanks to a generator that operates the refrigerator, well pump and a few lights, we've managed. But...I was in need of a hot shower and internet access, so I'm spending the night in a hotel before I head off to CA tomorrow for the fall and winter.
So, Beverly G won her choice of books from the Lothario series. She chose THE LUST BOAT, and that is now on its way to her.
Jennifer L won the cookbook, KINKY KUPCAKES. Jennifer, check your spam folder for my email! I need a snail mail address!!
Thanks to everyone who participated in the blog hop. I hope you all made out like bandits from all the fabulous authors!
More fun is on the way, so stay tuned!

Six Sentence Sunday 8/21/11
Thanks for stopping by today. This little snippet is from the third book in the Lothario Series, LOVE ME TWICE. Celeste is having dinner with Sean after five years of separation.
They'd always been easy together, and it was good to know that hadn't changed. Celeste watched Sean. She catalogued the new lines on his face, and remembered how he'd gotten the small scar near his left ear. They had a lot of history together, and she'd never be able to let that go completely. But the intervening years had changed them both, maybe in a good way, maybe not. That had yet to be seen.

Welcome, friend! I'm so glad you stopped in today. Don't you just love the theme of this blog hop – Sultry Summer Nights? Sultry is one of my favorite words. Just saying it conjures up all kinds of lovely, sexy thoughts. It rolls off the tongue, all hot and steamy, and provocative. Try this with me – say the word aloud, and pay attention to your lips and tongue as they form the sounds. See what I mean?
If you don't know, I write contemporary erotic romance. My Lothario series is set on an erotic themed cruise ship – the Lothario, aka THE LUST BOAT. Every seven days, the Lothario leaves Miami with a 2500 passengers for a week of anything goes sex. You can't get any more sultry than that! As the writer of this series, I have the luxury of putting anyone I want on the ship, so I got to thinking…If I could put together the ultimate group of sexy guys to spend six sultry summer nights with onboard the Lothario…who would I choose?
Here's my list, in no particular order. What do you think?

Paul Newman
When you look up sultry in the dictionary – his picture is there.

Robert Redford
This is what they mean by smiling eyes.

Robert Downey Jr.
I don't have to explain this one, do I?

Patrick Dempsey
That damned half-smile gets me.

Hugh Jackman
Just because.

Timothy Olyphant
He's only getting better with age.

Rod Stewart
Not that great looking, but his voice gets me every time.

Brad Pitt
Just look at that smile. *sigh*

George Clooney
He just oozes class.

Jimmy Smits
Not often on anyone's list, but damn... what's wrong with those people?
Now, for the prizes…
At the end of the week, I'll be giving away two fabulous prizes to some lucky people who participate. For every one of the things you do on the list below, the more times your name will be entered to win.
So, what can you win?
One lucky person will win a copy of one of the books in the Lothario Series. – their choice.
Another lucky person will win a copy of KINKY CUPCAKES, by Joanna Farrow. It's a lovely little cookbook filled with scrumptious cupcake recipes with names like Dominatrix Delights and Forbidden Fruits.
How do you enter the drawing for one of these great prizes? Simple…
Tell me who you'd want to sail on the Lothario with. Just post to any of these venues to be entered to win. The more places you comment, the more times your name is entered to win!

Six Sentence Sunday 8/14/11
Today's snippet is from my current WIP, the fifth book in the Lothario series. Still no title, but I'm working on that! Here, Drew is receiving a bit of instruction...
"Focus on my hands, not on the restraints." She pressed her lips to his left nipple and tongued the tiny peak. "Focus on my mouth. Focus on what I'm doing to you." Ah, Christ. She repeated that lips and tongue thing on his other nipple and relaxing wasn't something he was capable of doing, but he did focus on the jolt of desire that shot from his chest to his groin.

Summer Memories
When I was kid growing up in Texas, summer meant a lot of things to me – a break from school, time to play with friends, trips to the community pool and warm nights playing hide and seek with the neighborhood kids. It also meant – Family Reunions. The threat of yet another get together with a bunch of old people who knew me, but I swear I'd never seen before, hung like a storm cloud over my summer plans. I dreaded the letters that came every year – handwritten missives informing us of the time and place of yet another reunion. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to commit a felony to prevent the postman from delivering one of those letters. We received no less than four every summer. Three came from my dad's side – the Wall, Richardson and Combest families – all enormous families by today's standards. The smaller, and the one requiring the most travel – all the way to East Texas - was my mother's family, the Whites. Each and every one of the reunions was held in a park (there was no other place big enough for most of them), in the middle of summer. In Texas.
Many of you are experiencing one of the hottest and driest summers on record, and I can assure you, they were just as hot when I was a kid. To say I dreaded these get-togethers would be an understatement. A few things made them not so bad. One of those was my cousin (on my dad's side) Cathy. She's just a few months older than me, and the closest thing to a sister I have. Like me, she had to attend many of these functions too. Most of the time, we managed to disappear (that was when it was still safe to wander off in a public park) and reappear in time for lunch. We'd find a playground, or play with our Barbie dolls in the shade of a giant oak tree. Our favorite (or least hated) gathering was the Fourth of July gathering at the lake. There, we'd don our swimsuits and wade out into the murky water that was the swimming beach and hunt for mussels – with our toes. Yep, that's what we called fun. Pathetic, wasn't it? I can't even imagine what my girls would say if I suggested they give that a try. We'd drag our wet, fishy smelling selves back to the picnic pavilion just as the ice cream freezers were about to give up their stash of homemade frozen custards. Bowls were passed around, and we tasted everyone's contribution to the feast with unbridled enthusiasm – which brings me to the second reason the reunions were bearable…
The food. No matter where Cathy and I wandered to, when it came time for the relatives to pull the foil covers off the dishes they'd brought, we'd be some of the first in line, paper plates in hand. I might not have enjoyed listening to the 'my how you've grown' comments from the old folks, but those same old folks could cook! And they brought their best stuff to the reunions. Couldn't have the folks making fun of their cooking skills on the hot drive home, so everyone pulled out all the stops.
It wasn't long before one of my enterprising relatives decided it would be a good idea to document this culinary phenomenon, and surprise, surprise, the old folks agreed. Thus was born, The Reunion Cookbook. It's one of those spiral bound things with hand-drawn cover art of a jalopy filled with a smiling family and a picnic basket. It's chocked full of the best recipes you've ever tasted in your life, and it's one of my prized possessions. The pages are stained and tattered from repeated use now, but to have this treasure is reason enough to have endured all those reunions.
So, in honor of summer memories, here's one of my favorite recipes, straight from the Reunion Cookbook.
COOKSHACK PEACH COBBLER
1/2c. butter or margarine1c. flour2 c. sugar - divided1 tsp. baking powder1 c. milk1qt. fresh sweetened peaches – Peel and slice peaches. Bring to a boil with ½ to 1c. sugar. Cook until soft.
