Alec MkII and the Autumn Schedule.

The Seduction of Alec Caldwell - Casey K. Cox - FictionThe summer has come and gone with very little in the way of writing. I did take part in the Goodreads M/M Romance Love Landscape with a short story Guarding Dizzy available for free to download.
The summer also saw final edits to the second instalment for Alec Caldwell. The Seduction of Alec Caldwell: Erotic Adventures of a Young Businessman will be available in print and eBook early November from Bruno Gmunder and various outlets including iTunes, Amazon, and Barnes and Noble.
Last month I found myself caught up in a bit of a fanfiction appreciation and had the urge to join the ranks of Archive of Our Own. There are currently eight different story arcs going on over there if you’d like some light reading. I’m registered as Casey_K.
My sights for the next few months are set on edits for Alec MkIII and The Breaker PT2 – Uncovering Raif with the third and final instalment following shortly after.
I’d also like to send special thanks to Alec’s editor Roger Kean. Don’t forget he has an amazing catalogue of his own work available for your perusal.
So, enjoy the longer nights with a mug of hot chocolate, a fluffy blanket, and a new book or twenty :P

And the Beat Goes On...

Wow, time goes fast.

It's already three months since the release of 'Alec' in print and Volume Two is on the editing board. I'm so chuffed with the results, and Volume Two will include some new scenes to round out Alec's adventures.

In other news, I have contributed to the Goodreads Love's Landscapes this year with a free short entitled Guarding Dizzy. It's a sweet coming of age tale about two university students who find themselves in interesting waters. It should be released late July/early August. Check Goodreads for details.

Writing has been slow due to an unexpected house move and an addition to the family. The muse is getting angsty waiting for a time when I can sit, unhindered once again, and reel off some good chapters. I look forward to it, and I hope you do too.

In the meatime, keep reading :)

When sometimes, as authors, we just can’t win…and it's okay.

I walked into the pub the other day (I know it sounds like this is going to be a joke of some kind, but bear with me) and caught the tail end of a conversation between two women sat near the bar that made me realise, once and for all, why we should detach ourselves from reviews of our work.
NB: The conversation is paraphrased and not verbatim—a little creative license, please ;)
Woman 1: “That just wouldn’t happen in real life. I mean, come on, why would anyone write that?”Woman 2: “I know. I was so angry. I don’t know if I can read the next one.”Woman 1: “I’ll persevere (with this one), but everyone knows male werewolves don’t go into heat, it’s ridiculous. Next it’ll be sparkling vampires, you wait and see.” Chorus of giggles.
 O.o
I’m wondering whether I need to say more. Perhaps I’m the only one who sees the faulty logic here, but whether I am, or you share my ‘huh?’ moment, the interlude served the purpose of reinforcing the concept that we cannot please everyone. So I am content to carry on breaking the rules and writing the stories the characters want to tell, and the muse relays. Even if only one of those stories finds an appreciative mind in the shape of a reader who rides the same train (of super fantastic) as me then my job is done :D
As authors, let’s celebrate our individual quirks and qualities—that granted, may drive some readers crazy (I'm still deciding whether I'm sorry about that)—and recognize our place in literary history with every word that escapes into the universe from our delectably twisted unique minds.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I will be attending the UK GLBT Fiction Meet in Bristol. If you're going, please come over and say hello so I'm not sat in the corner on my own, twiddling my thumbs.

More Alec news ...*faints

I have GREAT news and sad news...

Firstly, I'd like to thank all the hardened Alec fans out there who've supported his adventures (and my sanity) since Alec went public. It's been amazing and scarey, and supercool.

Those of you who have been following Alec's news will know I signed a publishing deal for German rights to Alec's adventures with a view to a big splashy release at the Leipzig book fair next year (soooo exciting).

Latest news, just off the press, I have a publisher interested in English rights for print with a tentative release date of next Spring. Holy moly, how exciting is that? That's the GREAT news.

The sad news is, an English publishing deal means the end of Alec as a free read. I'll let that settle in for a moment ...

As from today, Alec is only available as first chapter excerpts for each volume.

I can't thank you all enough for your support and encouragement and I hope you'll all follow Alec on his lastest adventure splashed across the printed page in all his naked glory.

With my humblest regards
Casey K

It's official - Alec is going to print!

I admit it, I’m excited. Thanks to Leen (big squeezing hugs to you :P), I have just signed a contract for print and ebook rights with CCV to distribute Alec to the German speaking world. Amazing.

Tentative release date, summer 2014. In celebration, I am posting a prologue to Vol 4 written specially for the occasion (and of course to keep you guessing).

I will warn you however, there will be a wait before Vol 4 kicks off in earnest. But the better news is, plans for Alec are changing, and in light of the new publishing deal, Alec will almost certainly be staying on for a Vol 5.

I hope you are all as stoked as I am - really, words fall short at this particular moment.

In other news, part two of the Breaker is coming along nicely. It's longer, more involved, and really peels away at the heart of our Breaker boys and their motives.

So I will leave you to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, the new Alec titbit :D

Guest blogging ...

It's three weeks since the release of Finding King and I feel as though I've travelled the world. Guest blogging is great, isn't it? Today I've been visiting Zach Sweets and tomorrow the Breaker boys are making an appearance with me for Writer's Wednesday with Leta Blake. Writer's Wednesday. Wow. That buzz - of realising 'Hey, I'm a writer' - never gets old. I hope you've all enjoyed the first journey of the Breaker. Ace and Raif are up next, and their story is unfolding a new chapter in the life of the Breaker-One-Niner. Isn't life fun?

Exclusive WIP from Alec Vol 4

Just a little something to wet the appetite of hardened Alec fans ;P
... And because I miss him too

Bradley jumped up from his desk with a Cheshire cat grin when Alec turned the corner. “You’re four o’clock is waiting in your office, Alec.”“I didn’t know I had a four o’clock. Aren’t we clear until Monday? I thought tomorrow was booked out for review and Wilson was my last today.”“It was a last minute thing.” “Background?”“I don’t have any.”“Well where did he come from?”“He said he was given a recommendation. Sorry, I know I should have found out more but…” Bradley shrugged. Fuck. All he needed was another uberclass numpty that thought Alec should be able to create millions from a few lousy grand.“You will pay for it if I end up looking like a nob. Name? Oh, never mind.” It wasn’t often Brad fucked up. Actually, this was the first time. Alec straightened his tie and jacket, practised his fake smile and opened the door.Oh, very sweet. Very sweet indeed. Alec took a moment to roll up his tongue and wipe the drool from his chin. A vision in navy glided across the room to meet him, all dark eyes, dark hair and perfect skin that paled, even against the crisp white shirt. There was a hint of something oriental in his build and features. No more than five-nine, narrow but firm looking. Worth the last minute booking, Brad would get a reward later.  “Alec Caldwell,” the young man said, holding out his hand. “I’m Damien.”No last name. Fair enough. Alec shook his hand. “Alec, please. I don’t think we’ve met before. What can I do for you?”“I understand you have a very special kind of business.” Damien placed his manicured hand against Alec’s chest and slipped it up to his shoulder. Oki doki. Not the usual introduction. Alec took a couple of steps back and his calves butted the sofa. Damien followed closely and pushed him, smiling when Alec plopped onto the seat behind. The suit was expensive, he had the look of a successful young urbanite but there was something very raw about him. Raw and just a little dangerous. He sat astride Alec’s lap and caught hold of his suit jacket. “I’m here on business of sorts.”“Not the sort I’m used to, by the look of it.” Alec tried to reason with himself that this wasn’t a good idea but damn, the guy was hot and literally throwing himself on the altar of Alec’s colossal sex drive. It would be rude to turn him down, he was a client, after all and this was business. He’d said so.“Oh, I think you’ll like it just fine.” Damien sucked a finger into his mouth and let it slip out, wetting his lips. Alec’s cock swelled enthusiastically. He hadn’t fucked since early this morning; this would be a nice evening appetiser. Damien slipped Alec’s jacket off his shoulders and he shrugged out of it. The delicate hands went straight for Alec’s belt and made short work of Alec’s trousers, wriggling them down and exposing Alec’s traitor cock, bouncing for attention. Damien stepped back and stripped slowly. What a show … and the penny dropped. Alec was being set up for something … by someone … but he was too far gone to care.  Damien slipped back over Alec’s lap and wrapped the tie he’d taken off around Alec’s neck using it to pull him closer. “Tell me how you like it,” he whispered against Alec’s lips. “I can be your angel or your devil. You just let me know.” Alec swallowed hard. Every word slipped down his spine and massaged his balls.Damien let go of the tie and slipped a condom over Alec’s cock, followed by a swipe of lube neither of which Alec had even seen appear. He lifted off Alec’s lap and wrapped an arm around Alec’s neck, using the other to line up Tab A to insert B. A slow sensual decent followed. Every inch heaven itself. An angel for sure. Damien rested on Alec’s lap, his grin so cheeky. He wrapped his other arm around Alec’s neck and rocked forward, whispering in Alec’s ear. “Brendan and Dylan would like to say a special thank you for allowing them to play with your boy during your recent holiday. They offer this gift as a means of reparation.”Damien managed to somehow squeeze and pull Alec’s cock at the same time without even moving. “Oh, god,” Alec gasped. “Where did you learn to do that?” “I have lots of special tricks for you, Alec. Courtesy of your special friends.”Alec let go, leaving the direction and the details in Damien’s very capable hands. He whimpered occasionally, revelling in the building pressure, the light touch massaging his balls, the occasional lick over his chin. Damn, he was good. Definitely a professional. Alec groaned particularly loudly, rested his head on the back of the chair and let his eyes fall closed.
