OK, I relented on leaving this book, because people seemed to be enjoying the story of how Rosemari got off her dreary planet. So I’ll share another snippet or two from her on the subject. Sharing excerpts from JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRI...

Veronica Does a New Quiz!

DepositPhoto
This must be my lucky month – I found two quizzes I wanted to ‘play’ with! (The first was a food quiz, which appears here). The new one was in the Winter issue of Marie Claire and deals with inner peace and related topics. The quiz was a series of fill in the blank sentences so I’m changing the format a bit and skipping a few questions which were too New Age-y for me.
Social media’s impact on my sense of well-being: It depends what’s going on the in the world and in the author world...

HUMANITY’S END GAME by Eve Langlais
Humanity’s endgame was only the beginning for me. Aliens ended life as we know it on Earth. Not on purpose I should add, though that did...

Sharing excerpts from JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRIORS SCIFI ROMANCE NOVEL. This will be the last one from JAMOKAN because we’re getting into spoiler territory. I’ve jumped way ahead. They’ve been discussing Rosemari’s talent as an artist a...

Veronica Reviews Time Loop Movie ‘Map of Tiny Perfect Things’
Note: This post first appeared on the AMAZING STORIes magazine Blog…
I love the “day repeating itself” trope and so was eager to watch the movie “Map of Tiny Perfect Things”, released in February on Amazon Prime Video. My favorite in the genre is the classic “Groundhog Day” with Bill Murray although Tom Cruise’s “Edge of Tomorrow” is a close second for me. I think “Map” is a worthy entrant into the field.
One of the most fascinating things to me about movies in this genre is asking myself what I...

Sharing excerpts from JAMOKAN: A BADARI WARRIORS SCIFI ROMANCE NOVEL.
The excerpt – I’ve skipped ahead a tiny bit. Rosemari is still gathering her wits after awakening in Jamokan’s tent and demanding to be allowed to go outside:
She ...

Veronica Does a Food Quiz!

It’s been a long time since I did a quiz but this week I found a fun one in Entertainment Weekly, entitled “Playing With Food.” I’m rectifying their mystifying failure to interview a non-famous scifi romance author about these “burning culinary questions” LOL.
I’m not a foodie. My mother cooked from a very basic 1950’s cookbook and my Dad was a meat and potatoes guy, seasoned with a ton of salt. I have an uneducated palate and firmly believe bacon bits and ketchup are miracle foods....

The excerpt skips ahead from last week. Rosemari has dreamed once again and now she’s waking up:
She was lying on a pallet of some kind, apparently...
