I was born and raised in Leicestershire, and now live in an old Sussex cottage with a leaky roof, an enormous veg patch, and a lot of chickens. Things I love (in no particular order): books, words, cats (I have four), donkeys (sadly I have none), my pals, Fake or Fortune, working museums, walled gardens, roses, A.S Byatt, paintings by Cedric Morris, Paris, antiques fairs, The National Trust, Lee Miller's war reports, chintz, ceramics, Peggy Angus wallpaper, blankets, and archives.
