Author L.V. Lewis revisits the world of Keisha Beale and Tristan White from her Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever in Exit Strategy!
Ex·it Strat·e·gy (noun) 1. A preplanned means of extricating oneself from a situation that is likely to become difficult or unpleasant. 2. The method by which a venture capitalist or business owner intends to get out of an investment that he or she has made in the past.
Will Keisha and Tristan exercise their elaborate EXIT STRATEGY and end their unorthodox arrangement?
Assailed by demons she thought she had conquered, Keisha Beale has uttered the words to end her tumultuous relationship with Tristan White. Separated, they grapple for a time with their personal demons. However, when their lives apart become unbearable, a credible threat brings them back together prematurely.
As they seek to discover who is responsible for the threats, several seemingly unrelated incidents throw them into a tailspin. Will Keisha’s youthful indiscretions or Tristan’s un-reconciled feelings for a former sub derail their tenuous arrangement?
In the meantime, trouble in Nathan and Jada’s paradise send dramatic ripples that hint of future difficulties in the idyllic pairing.
Nothing Ventured…
Tristan uses his vast wealth and connections to correct a gross miscarriage of justice, while Keisha makes herself utterly vulnerable to Tristan and fears he has chosen to exercise his own exit strategy.
…Nothing Gained!
Will this be the end of the indecent arrangement that became a fairy tale? Or will Keisha and Tristan reveal the trauma from their pasts so they may heal and completely embrace their relationship?
Sensual, suspenseful, and still infused with the riotous levity of Triple-G and Fairy Hoochie Mama, the Ghetto Girl Romance Quadrilogy departs from full parody with a distinctive take on love, loyalty, sacrifice, redemption, and acceptance.
L. V. Lewis doesn’t have the financial means of Tristan White, but she wouldn’t want readers to go away from this new release empty handed, so she’s giving all readers the chance to win some fabulous prizes.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
L. V. Lewis has one foot in South Georgia and the other in North Florida. She’s been blessed with a husband who’s put up with her for a lot of years and has given birth to four children, two of whom she has raised to adulthood and one to near adulthood. Exit Strategy – Coming Soon! Seriously :) #OCT #EROTIC #ROMANCE #ASMSG #50SoJFBook2
After several false starts borne out of amateurism, failing health, demanding work schedules, writer’s block and a whole lot of other craziness I had no control over, I finally have a finished product for Exit Strategy. This weekend it will be placed into the hands of a select few pre-readers (I’m only limiting the number so much because I won’t have time to compile all the feedback for the group I have, so please don’t be offended if I can’t let you pre-read this time around), then if what they say is mostly good, my goal is to have a product in retail outlets by October 29th! The pre-readers for me, are like a focus group for books, for wont of a better way to describe them. I’m going to take what they say to heart and if they’re not telling me to write 90% of the book over, you’ll see the next book at the end of this month.
I was ruminating over the journey I’ve taken as a published writer and realized that it was exactly one year ago, October 31, that Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever hit the virtual shelves. I was very nervous because I knew the story would be loved or hated, and there was a contingent of folks on GoodReads who spewed the hate before the book actually became available which led me to wonder, “what the hell have I gotten myself into?” However, shortly after that, the book was embraced by several book clubs and the rest, as they say, is history. Since last October, Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever has continued to be enthusiastically purchased by readers who are discovering it slowly by word-of-mouth. I have not discovered the magic bullet for becoming a bestseller, yet, but I’m very appreciative to all my readers who took a chance on a poorly named book and series that they have grown to love.
Exit Strategy, Book 2 of the Ghetto Girl Romance Quadrilogy has been a true labor, as well as a labor of love. It has taken the better part of a year to get here, primarily because I am a laboriously slow writer, and secondarily for all the reasons I named at the beginning of this post. The creative process is not always my friend, and probably for six of the eleven months it has taken to get this book completed, I experienced the worst writer’s block known to man.
If I were one who gives up easily, I would’ve canned this project a long time ago, but failure is not an option for me. I had to move in the direction of getting this book to you, even though I embarrassed myself several times by setting release dates that were unachievable for various reasons. So, when I finally wrote the words THE END on my manuscript, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment. As I promised you when the book was not completed in the summer, I said I would not give you another date unless I was sure the book would be imminently published. We have reached that point, ladies and gentlemen, and I’m very pleased and proud to be on the precipice of bringing you EXIT STRATEGY!!!! If you want to be among the first to know when the book is live on the various platforms (Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, Kobo, Sony, iTunes, ARe), please sign up to be notified via my Mailing List.
Now, to those bloggers, authors, readers, and Facebookers who have signed up to participate in my cover reveal and book release, I will be contacting you via email with the information you will need to share these occasions for me. The following is the contact form where you may sign up if you haven’t already: LV Lewis’s Mailing List.
Readers, if you have Facebook and/or Twitter, even GoodReads, you can help me in this by getting the word out to your friends and family who are readers. So, please don’t hesitate to sign up to participate in either the cover reveal, the book release, or both. You all know what the old cover looks like, so I’m going to post it here just for kicks and giggles. However, the masses will get to see the new cover created by the gorgeous and talented Ms. Kristy Charbonneau, at Covermecreative.com, on Tuesday, October 22nd.
There is also a GiveAway that I have neglected horribly, and the numbers were not reached in order for me to award prizes. That giveaway is here: LV Lewis’s Giveaway, and if you still want to participate, there are fourteen days still left for us to meet the numbers, but you’ll have to sign up for my Mailing List and/or purchase the Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever audiobook, which is FREE on Audible.com with a 30-Day trial.
If you love Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever, now is the time to purchase the audiobook, featuring the incomparable Ms. Marie Hélène, whom many of you have met on The Block or around Facebook, then when Exit Strategy is recorded, you’ll already have an Audible account to purchase it, as well.

Book Spotlight ~ The Blind Date by Delaney Diamond #Oct #IRRomance #ASMSG #MCRomance
One night changes everything . . . again.
Years ago, when Ryan Stewart saw Shawna Ferguson, it was love at first sight. Unfortunately, he wasn’t a free man, and his deception caused him to lose her after a weekend that changed his life.
When Shawna’s sister and brother-in-law set her up on a blind date, she has no idea it’s with Ryan, with whom she’d spent a weekend she wishes she could forget. She reluctantly agrees to finish the date with him, but doing so leaves her vulnerable to his charms and the heat he ignited in her that very first night.
Excerpt:
Yvonne Wallace looked at Shawna from across the table in the kitchen. They were having breakfast, and as usual, Little Miss Homemaker—as Shawna liked to teasingly call her sister—had set out a feast of homemade raisin bread, butter and homemade jam, scrambled eggs, and fruit cups.
Only two years separated the sisters, but their personalities were as different as black and white. While Shawna had dreamed of opening her own boutique, which she’d accomplished four years ago, Yvonne had dreamed of becoming a wife and mother. At twenty-four she’d married a doctor, and by their second anniversary, she’d quit her job to make that dream a reality. After six years of marriage, they had a four-year-old daughter and two-year-old son, and Yvonne was seven months pregnant with her second son. Taking care of her family and getting ready for the baby filled her days.
Yvonne was one of those people who, because she was happily married, wanted the same for everyone else. She’d found her Mr. Right and claimed he existed for every woman. Shawna knew better. Finding a good man—with whom one was compatible—seemed as unrealistic as finding a diamond mine on her property. Basically, it wasn’t gonna happen, and Shawna had resigned herself to the fact.
Her sister couldn’t seem to understand she was perfectly happy being single, and she kept trying to help Shawna find a man through “chance” meetings and “unexpected” visits when Shawna came to visit her.
When the conversation came up about her paltry dating options, Shawna had a solution. “I’ll hire an escort the next time I need to attend an event with a date.” She shrugged.
“Ew. You will not. No sister of mine is going to pay for a date.”
“There’s nothing nasty about it,” Shawna said. “Lots of women do it nowadays.”
“Desperate women.”
“No. Women who don’t have the time or energy to sift through what’s out there. The companies match you up with someone who has similar interests, you go out, and then you’re done. Bam. No fuss, no muss.”
“Why do that when I have the perfect man for you?”
“I’m not looking for a man.”
Yvonne rolled her eyes. “Okay, whatever. I have the perfect escort for you. Is that better?”
“No offense, but you haven’t exactly done a good job setting me up with the right men in the past.” Shawna pretended to be in deep thought. “Let’s see, remember the guy from your church, Steve, who started singing hymns in the car on the ride back home and prayed for my soul as we stood at the front door?”
“He loves the Lord. What’s wrong with that?”
Shawna narrowed her eyes and continued. “David, who wouldn’t stop talking about his ex-wife the entire night. Our date ended with him crying on my shoulder about how much he missed her.”
“Look at the bright side. You got a free meal, and at least you didn’t waste any more time with him than necessary. One date in and you already knew he was wrong for you.”
“And I can’t forget Nolan. Sexy, suave, rich. What a surprise to see his face on the evening news as the person who’d robbed several banks in the area and left lines of poetry as his trademark. Just think, I can say I dated the Poetry Bandit.”
“Granted, I should have dug a little deeper when he said he worked in banking.”
Shawna sighed. “I know you mean well, but your choice in men leaves me a bit . . . how should I say this? Terrified.” Shawna slathered butter on the bread and bit into a crunchy slice.
“This guy could be right for you, though. I really think the two of you will hit it off.”
“How do you know him?”
“So you’re interested?”
“Answer the question.”
“He’s a friend of William’s.”
The fact that he was one of her brother-in-law’s friends meant he was probably better vetted than the men her sister had introduced her to in the past. Interest piqued, she said, “Tell me about him.”
“I thought you weren’t interested.”
“Would you tell me about him!”
Yvonne giggled, cocky in her triumph. “Like I said, William knows him better, but I’ve also met him, and he’s really nice. You’ll like him.”
“What does he look like?”
“He’s about six feet tall. Great personality, really nice guy.”
Shawna watched her sister closely. She seemed evasive, which made Shawna suspicious. “You mentioned nice twice, but not whether or not he’s attractive. Does he have an eye in the middle of his forehead or something?”
Yvonne waved her hand and snorted, as if to say, don’t be ridiculous. “Of course not.”
“Then what does he look like?”
“Don’t worry, he’s attractive. He’s not your usual type, that’s all. So please don’t do that thing you do.”
“What thing?” Shawna asked, already offended.
“You know that thing you do when you’re trying to cover up your surprise or when you don’t like something—you smile, but it’s this weird, creepy smile. Be open-minded.”
“I don’t do that. And why would I need to be open-minded? What’s wrong with him, Yvonne?” Concern started to set in.
“Nothing. But really, I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Trust your big sister on this one, okay?”

Cold Light by Traci L. Slatton (@tracilslatton) ~ My Review – #SEPT #AdultDystopian #ASMSG #Romance
As is characteristic of her style, Traci L. Slatton begins Cold Light in much the same manner as Fallen–in the bosom of in medias res (Latin, in the midst of things). She begins just as the Roman poet Horace and Jack Lynch advises, in the heart of the story without preamble. The story also parallels Fallen because this time Emma’s eldest daughter, Beth, rather than her youngest, Mandy, is in danger. In fact, Beth is kidnapped by raiders and taken on horseback to places unknown as the book opens. Ergo, life in this post-apocalyptic increasingly dystopian society goes from bad to worse for Emma.
Fallen ended with Emma leaving Arthur, the man whom she had come to know as the other part of her soul, behind as her husband, Haywood, retrieved her and Mandy by Airplane via Canada. The family had been separated when the mists, the noxious gases created by a military experiment gone bad, consumed much of the technology, machines and modes of transportation made possible by the industrial revolution and the technological boom of Silicon Valley, leaving Emma and Mandy stranded in the Parisian countryside.
The world as they had come to know it had ceased to exist with many of the creature comforts they had come to enjoy now gone forever. And now, having her daughter kidnapped in the dead of winter, Emma and Haywood haggle over who will take on the daunting task of going to rescue her. After gathering intel and being told that the city they now call home won’t go in search of their taken residents, Emma and Haywood decide they can spare only one of them to take the dangerous journey through sub-zero weather to rescue Beth from none other than a man by whom Emma suffered being kidnapped herself.
As Emma walks through treacherous weather, she is stalked by a large cat, helped by some, and betrayed by others on the way to her destination. At the last outpost she comes to before she plans to attempt the rescue of her daughter, Emma encounters old friends and an extremely determined lover who have no intentions of allowing her to continue her journey alone. Yet, she does not want them to risk their lives to save her child. Will Emma brave this rescue attempt on her own and succeed, or will love truly demand everything of her in this gripping Book 2 of the After Trilogy, Cold Light?
If you’d read Fallen, there is no way you can forgo Cold Light. I read this immediately after reading Fallen, but am just now getting to review. However, don’t let that lead you to believe that this book isn’t as stellar as the first. In fact, this book is more action-packed and the stakes have gone even higher than Emma and her family just avoiding the mists that can consume them. This is a do-or-die, life-and-death story that leaves you guessing at every turn–How is Emma going to get out of these newest pickles? Read Cold Light and find out.
This is a dystopian romance for the mature set, (Hunger Games and/or Divergent on steroids). Don’t ignore this wonderful series.
I give Cold Light Five out of Five Stars!

ABOUT TRACI L. SLATTON:
Traci L. Slatton is a graduate of Yale and Columbia, where she taught freshman composition. She lives in Manhattan, though her love for Renaissance Italy inspired her historical novel Immortal [Bantam Dell], which is currently in film pre-production and reached bestseller status in Italy, Russia and Brazil. Also the author of The Botticelli Affair and the After trilogy (Fallen, Cold Light and Far Shore [forthcoming late spring 2013]), Slatton has published The Art of Life, a photo essay about figurative sculpture; a book of poetry; as well as a non-fiction title on science and spirituality, Piercing Time & Space. Bloggers and Authors Please Sign Up for My Cover Reveal and Release Party ~ #ASMSG
My first book release happened with very little fanfare. In fact there was none. I decided one night after joking with a friend to write Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever. After binge-writing for two months, then binge-editing for a couple of weeks, I went onto CreateSpace and self-published my first book.
Were it not for the vehicle called word-of-mouth, and the unwavering support of those who read and loved my book, I would not be about to publish the follow-up, Exit Strategy. However, before this happens, I want to do this release the right way. So, in a few weeks, I will be hosting a cover reveal for Exit Strategy, which will feature the branded cover series created by my cover artist, Kristy Charbonneau.
Then approximately four weeks later I will host a Release Party to debut Exit Strategy. This all culminates around the anniversary of the first edition of Fifty Shades of Jungle Fever.
However, I need a favor from the many bloggers, authors and friends I’ve met since entering the writing world. I would like to ask you to host my Cover Reveal and Release Party by signing up to donate, e-books, premium swag, and space on your blogs to announce both the new cover and new release. Please make your pledges to do so by completing this BLOGGER AND AUTHOR HOSTING FORM, and please know that I always reciprocate these favors. So, if you host my events, I’ll happily host yours.
Readers, if you want to hear the minute the cover is posted and the minute the book is available on all platforms, please complete my Readers Newsletter Mailing List Form.
I look forward to making the new book available to you all, and thanks so much for helping me make it possible. ~ LV

He grasped her waist. “But a proper kiss is about the anticipation.” His hand continued the journey slowly up to her face. “Both parties must be aware of the possibility and wait for the right moment to happen.”
“Telling me to come here so you can kiss me means you created the right moment. And the anticipation doesn’t make it better.”
“Still counts. You don’t know when I’m going to make my move.” He paused, voice lowered. “You should also know I will make you regret those words.”
Well, damn if he wasn’t right. Once he’d spoken her heart had kicked up. Her pulse thumped against the hand now on the side of her neck. Marshall’s gaze went to her lips as he ran a thumb over the parted flesh. She trembled.
“So soft. Do you still taste like lime?”
The comment made her lick her lips, which was probably the reason he said it, if the smirk was any indication. He lowered his head, placed a whisper of a kiss on her bottom lip, then a little bit of pressure. He moved back, but only a breath away.
“You do,” he said.
He kissed her the same way again and again until he introduced her to his tongue in slow swipes along her top lip. He would pull back far and long enough that she didn’t think he was coming back. Just when she thought he was done, he’d nip at the sensitive flesh of her mouth. Marshall continued the torture until he had his hands gripped in her hair and there was no pulling back.

My Review:
Burned out from a job that was supposed to be her way of helping people, Leah takes a much-needed vacation in St. Lucia. However, her tropical paradise quickly becomes a nightmare. The driver she hired to take her quickly away from the hustle and bustle of the airport spirits her away to a remote area where he is full of nefarious intention.
In the course of being robbed of all the possession on her person, and quite possibly a few other things, a Knight in sexy, fleshly armor comes to her rescue. Marshall saves her from most of the robber’s nefarious intent, but he gets away with everything else–most notably her purse and passport. Leah is stranded, yet she has no choice but to trust the stranger who has come to her rescue. Marshall takes her to the Rum Shack, his bar and home, which she insists on calling a dive.
Overnight, they make a deal and against both their better judgments, they strike said deal which includes Marshall giving Leah a job where she can earn the money she needs to get out of her dilemma while she waits to hear back from her mother via email to retrieve a copy of her passport.
Demons from Marshall’s past have driven him into the jungles of St. Lucia, and Leah’s family relationship, or lack thereof due to a past situation beyond her control, makes these two proper kindred spirits. They are both damaged, and each thinks they are beyond repair. The story teems with well-rounded characters, neighbors of the Rum shack who are Marshall’s friends. One such friend Marshall calls the mother of his heart, is Delores, a neighbor at a nearby banana plantation who worked with Marshall in his past life. How will he handle her decision to leave the island?
Meanwhile Marshall and Leah learn to trust and care for each other as their attraction takes over. Both realize that neither of them is in a place for a romance right now, but forces beyond their control have other ideas. Sofia Harper has written a romantic story that has teeth. The characters are beautifully flawed by guilt and hurt they have unfairly internalized to the point of crippling them both emotionally, until their combustible chemistry builds something neither of them planned. Hot Knight in Paradise is a story about forgiveness and second chances. Will they take a chance on each other, or will their attempt at romance fail miserably like everything else has in their lives?
I give Hot Knight in Paradise 4 out of 5 stars!
