Sandy Williams writes urban fantasy and science fiction, both with a strong shot of romance. She's a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope and loves books with high stakes and fantastical settings. When she's not being a bookworm, she loves playing board and card games like Dominion, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Dungeon Petz, etc (but not Goblins because she ALWAYS loses that damn game).

Hi Krystien,
I'm so happy you loved the shadow reader books. I miss McKenzie and the fae and hope to write a few short stories and alternate POV scenes in that world again soon. I have one alternate POV from Aren on my website if you want to check it out, and I'm working on another. I just can't get that world out of my mind. :-)
As for books, my current project is a space urban fantasy - or science fiction romance. It has a kickbutt heroine who's been charged with murder and treason, and who can’t deny the charges because she’s been telepathically silenced. There's a hot hero and a bunch of action, and I'm super excited about it. I'm aiming for a January 2015 release day.
Thanks for the question, and that's so much for reading!
Cheers!

Hi Vinaya,
Oh, wow! You've just made my day. It's so awesome to hear you've enjoyed Shades enough to read it three times! Yay! You are so going to love the next book. It will be out this summer, most likely early July. I'll probably have the exact date by the end of March. And hopefully the cover and summary within the next month or two! In the meantime, have you read Linnea Sinclair or Rachel Bach's books? They write my all-time favorite sci-fi romance books. Definitely worth reading (and rereading! lol).
Thanks for the question!

Trick-or-Treat! The Sandy Screw-up Edition

I'm doing a thing! A very...scary?...thing. While Sandy was away vacation-ing in the West Caribbean, I was digging through organizing her stuff,* and I discovered something super hilarious.

Sandy can't sign her name.

ROFLMAO

I mean, eventually she gets it right, but check out a few of the sig pages she's "messed up."

Look at that second pic! Sandra??? Sandy's only called Sandra when she's in trouble

“Fine," he says, his words coming out breathless. "I'll save your precious sword-master, McKenzie. But I will never, ever give you back to him.”
Sandy Williams, The Shadow Reader

“If I were a good man,” he says, “I’d acknowledge that Taltrayn is an honorable fae, that he loves you and would take care of you. I’d step down and let you have the man you’ve always wanted, but, McKenzie, I’m not as good as Taltrayn. I never will be, and I can’t step down. I’ll fight for the chance to be with you.”

The Shadow Reader (McKenzie Lewis, #1) by Sandy Williams
The Shadow Reader by Sandy Williams
Book synopsis: There can only be one allegiance.
It’s her time to choose.

Some humans can see the fae. McKenzie Lewis can track them, reading the shadows they leave behind. But some shadows lead to danger. Others lead to lies.

A Houston college student trying to finish her degree, McKenzie has been working for the fae king for years, tracking vicious rebels who would claim the Realm. Her job isn’t her only secret. For just as long, she’s been in love with Kyol, the king’s sword-master—and relationships between humans and fae are forbidden.

But any hope for a normal life is shattered when she’s captured by Aren, the fierce and uncompromising rebel leader. He teaches her the forbidden fae language and tells her dark truths about the Court, all to persuade her to turn against the king. Time is running out, and as the fight starts to claim human lives, McKenzie has no choice but to decide once and for all whom to trust and where she ultimately stands in the face of a cataclysmic civil war.

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett
Book synopsis: According to "The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter," "Witch" (the world's only "completely" accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.

So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon--both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle--are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.

And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

Darkhouse (Experiment in Terror, #1) by Karina Halle
Karina Halle
Book synopsis: With all the vampire, werewolf and faerie books out there, it's easy to become numb to all things supernatural. The antidote? Darkhouse introduces two real and unforgettable characters, Perry Palomino & Dex Foray, amateur ghost hunters who are "attractive, relatable and oddly heroic," "flawed but loveable," "slightly crazy" and just the most endearing pair to ever tackle the paranormal...just don't call them normal. Darkhouse is a thrilling and sexy new take on concepts like Supernatural and The X-Files, bringing a breath of fresh air to a genre that has been inundated with the dead.
