I've learned (and am still learning) to try to scoot out of the driver's seat. The Spirit, the muse, or whatever name you attach to a higher power is more than willing to inspire, but it's up to the writer to listen. Writing, I've found, comes from a deep place of listening, and I need to honor that.(less)

An Alzheimer’s patient I visited today had no idea it was her 94th birthday or who had sent the flowers and balloons decorating her room.
