Last night, I was part of a Facebook Live event with author Amber Smith, hosted by Charlotte Readers Podcast. We had a fun time talking about our new books— Dear Miss Cushman for me and Code Name Serendipity for Amber, and the tricks to writing younger characters. In my book, the protagonist is 18, while in Amber's the MC is 11. We also read snippets from our work to illustrate finding the main character's voice.
