In a world of magnets and miracles

Here's today's progress on my subtropical (art)deco mystery about a young medium in a historic spiritualist community teaming up with a shell-shocked haberdasher who's receiving love notes from hell ... as inspired by a real place and a real set of bizarre (otherworldly?) incidents:

Project: Brimstone
Deadline: March 1, 2016
New words written: 1574 (cumulative)
Present total word count: 60,593

Things Accomplished in Fiction: A whole lot of cleanup; a train trip; portents and signs.

Things Accomplished in Real Life: Neighborhood jaunts with the dog; took the little old lady cat to the vet for some fluids and a follow-up; did laundry; took myself to the doctor today and found out I really should've made the appointment some time ago.

Personal Other: What's got two thumbs and a two-week prescription for antibiotics? [:: this girl ::] My sinuses and one of my ears have basically exploded with infectious goo. Because that's exactly what I need right now.

Bonus Other: I've felt like hell for the last week. I guess, on the bright side, at least I've been validated by a man with a prescription pad. Not that it moves my deadlines or lightens my inbox. But still. I've got meds.

Cat Other: The little old lady was in rare form last night; she kept us both up and down for hours. Yes, she was medicated. No, we couldn't figure out what was wrong. Yes, she seems fine. We're hoping that once she really absorbs those fluids, she'll feel ... better? Less screamy? I've spent today so tired that I've literally been shaking (never mind the need for meds). I want to say "I can't deal with this right now" but here in the real world where I am an adult, I will deal with this right now whether I want to or not. I'm just not sure how.

Bonus Cat Other: Quinnie is doing quite well, though. So there's that.
