721 I began with the laid back list and boy, oh boy was I laid back this year.
I've managed 19 books his year- (and lots of mags) but only somehow finished the Historical Mystery The Dry (Aaron Falk, #1) by Jane Harper which I give a 4*. Review is recorded on the book page.
And I am 75% through The Rosie Result which will be completed in the next few days. Am listening to it instead of reading copy for something different. So far 3*.
So roll on next year and I'll try the challenge again- perhaps more disciplined in sticking to those books instead of scrolling through what I have in my kindle or on the shelf first. Perhaps.
And perhaps without adding so many other 'to reads' after reading the group's fab reviews on some of their books read.
Seasons Greetings from Perth one and all.

721 Hi Phrynne, I know it is late in Jan but I never found my name linked either. No drama. Not necessary to do it now. Just adding the books to my own list as I go along :) Wanted to let you know in case there is a list floating around somewhere that you need to amend for future reads. cheers, Kerrie D

721 Starting late but making up for it. Found my first book slow to get going but once I got into it I couldn't put it down. So many issues covered.
Up Until Now by Petrea King by Petrea King 4.5*
I came across the Quest for Life Foundation when reading one of my Goodread books for January: 'Up Until Now', chosen because the author was Australian. So many topics covered that are topical today although much of the story starts pre 1980's and goes into the 2000's. Self confidence, self esteem, mindfulness, resilience, religion, philosophy, relationships, travel, different cultures, health, palliative care, mentoring, bringing up kids as a sole parent and more. A book I stayed up late to finish, 'cos I can't put it down.
Petrea is a naturopath, yoga and meditation teacher who knows well that 'experiences may shape us but they do not define us.' And she quotes Mahatma Gandi who I have quoted here before: 'An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.' Petrea exhorts us to 'see the other as ourselves' and learn to live passionately, with purpose.

721 I was wondering if to add Clinton's book to my list- I think I might just have to add it to my additional TBR list after all :) Kate.

721 Mea culpa- I misread the challenge Brenda. I was quite confused too as for some reason I thought only some needed to be Oz which was strange cos I believed the group only read Oz books. (authors from or set in Oz). Shall rectify.
