[close] 1. Have fun! The point of reading is truly to escape into a very happy
place. Do not feel obligate to read anything that you do not wish to read.
2. Give each book a fair chance. I have often found in retrospect that I
gave up on a book too early. I've submitted to a two to three chapter rule.
If I do not enjoy a book after two to three chapters I set it aside to try
at another time in my life. You might think you hate something after the
first chapter, and find that after the third you're completely smitten.
3. Audiobooks completely count! Sometimes you do not have the time to read a
physical book and that is okay. Try to find an audiobook or perhaps get a
friend, roommate, spouse to read to you while you're in the midst of
something!
4. Have fun! Try to stick to the rules, but they're really just guidelines.
Read as often as you can, and enjoy yourself!
