Maggie Stiefvater
Becca Fitzpatrick
Justina Chen Headly
Shannon Hale
all wrote stories that I am madly in love with. <3
Twilight can't and will never even measure up to them =]

I'm going to have to agree to this. Who cares about sparkling vampires and girl-crazy werewolves??
I don't really like Twilight. I mean come on sparkling vampires.

They sparkle like shiny toothpaste. I bet their blood is minty.

ditto on the first 3 authors !!!

I agree with you:D
lol.I had to double check the title of list to make sure I was not hallucinating.

Amen to that, sister!
All of the YA books should be more promoted, because Twilight, with all of it's almighty crappiness, shouldn't even have a chance to get published.
Sorry, Meyer, but if a degree from Birmingham university focused on literature didn't help you, it's not going to get any better.
I've yet to completely understand the sexual sublimation involved in neck biting, but it's in there somewhere. Probably closely akin to "being in love" with Justin Bieber. Sort of like love, but not messy (except for the blood, but not, like, you know, "nasty.")
For a true romance, with fantasy, great writing, jeopardy, check out The Ballad of Young Tam Lin. Not for the younger YA crowd, but romantic and sensual without being graphic, so fine for older YA readers. Preview on Kindle ("look inside"), or buy hardcover at https://www.createspace.com/3661637.

I agree, I mean twilight was ok, but I think your right.

This one is good for older YA but I have to be honest and say that I suspect that the series will be going in a more adults-only direction as it progresses. Still, it's a great read - maybe just pre-screen it before handing it to your youngins.

This one is completely YA appropriate. It's a little bit violent but no more than the Twilight series and the story line is much more unique. FINALLY a book that pits vampires against something OTHER than werewolves/lycans. Yep, a brand new creature is in this book that I've never seen before anywhere else and they're pretty badass.

again Twilight is NOT that bad.. It is actually a good series. I think that it's just the movies that take away from it.

if i can say, hush hush and fallen are the worst. i read both of it and it so awful and terrible that i regret i ever read it in my life. so annoying. such a crap. blah

I totally agree!!!! Harry potter ? I can t even compare twilight to it!

Someone please tell me if TMI gets significantly better in the following books?
