"My favorite book of all time. I read this many years ago and it stuck in my mind. Every couple years I have to read it again. The main character, Skye O'Malley, is a strong, courageous woman who dared to live her life the way she wanted in a time period when women didn't break society rules. She faced off against queens, became a woman pirate for a while and loved fiercely with all her heart. She loved and lost but she was able to move forward and find love several times. There is just something about this book and the Skye O'Malley character that has stuck with me over the years. When I had my daughter, I named her Skye in the hopes that my daughter would become a strong, independent and fiercely loving woman just like this lovable character. "
