Goodreads asked Andrew Hastie:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Andrew Hastie When I get stuck, it's normally because I've lost the thread of the story. When that happens, I go back to the character development and make sure they are on track. Usually, it's the characters that are driving the plot so their motivations are always a good starting point. Otherwise, I mooch around random events from the past or articles on quantum mechanics and Chaos to see if it sparks any new ideas. Whatever you do don't stare at a blank page willing it to show you the way.
