A Goodreads user asked Melanie Dickerson:

Hi Mrs Dickerson! I've read all of the Hagenheim series up to The Captive Maiden, and then I started reading The Golden Braid. I'm a few chapters in and I found out that The Princess Spy comes next. Should I stop reading The Golden Braid and start reading The Princess Spy? BTW I love your books, your one of my new favourite authors! Would I be able to read the Regency series?

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Rosemary! You really don't have to read The Princess Spy before The Golden Braid. Either way you read them, there's a pretty big "surprise" in The Golden Braid. And the two stories--The Princess Spy and The Golden Braid--actually take place at the same time. But if you're a stickler for reading things in order, you could stop and read The Princess Spy, but it's not necessary.
Thanks!
And yes, my Regency series is okay for readers of all ages. If you like Jane Austen (her books or the movie adaptations) at all, I think you will like them. :-)
