The 7 husband's of Evelyn is wonderful. Are you a fan of the golden age of Hollywood? Did it inspire?

Taylor Jenkins Reid Thank you! I have always loved any Hollywood lore, from any time period. But I do think scandals tend to get juicier the longer ago it happened because people start coming clean about things.

But more than that, there's just something captivating about 50s and 60s Hollywood. I remember seeing Lucille Ball for the first time and being enchanted. Or watching North by Northwest and being mesmerized by Cary Grant. Audrey Hepburn always fascinated me. Grace Kelly, too.

Something about that time period in Hollywood feels so rich and luxe. It made it a very fun book to write!

In stories like After I Do, and One True Loves, do you know what the end result will be when you start writing, or does it develop in the process? Hi Taylor, I love the complexity of your plot in all of your stories but particularly in your latest, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (I loved every word of this book btw). Did you come up right away with the idea of constructing the story as you did, i.e. having Monique's POV and then having Evelyn tell the story? It works so well. I just finished the book on an airplane today, and I miss your characters!!
