My book club just read Evelyn Hugo and we all really liked it! We are wondering where the inspiration for the name Connor came from? Seems unusual for a typical boy name to be used for a girl in that era. Also, what books are you reading this summer?

Celebrities are sometimes ahead of the curve when it comes to naming their children. Evelyn would want something elegant but untraditional. Plus, she would be much less focused on gender than other celebrities of the time.
I'm reading Into the Water by Paula Hawkins right now. I just finished I'll Eat When I'm Dead by Barbara Bourland. And I enjoyed Hunger by Roxane Gay recently.

I have read and loved all of your novels beginning with Forever, Interrupted and continuing through to The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, without exception. I would describe Evelyn Hugo as a departure from your previous work, for I felt like I had been transported to another time. Do you have any idea about what you will be writing next?
