Goodreads asked Karen Marie Moning:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Karen Marie Moning I've found that the virtually the only time I get blocked is if I've veered off course from my vision for that book. If I can't write for two days in a row, I stop trying, go for a long walk and connect with nature which always inspires me, then go back and read what I've written to date. Inevitably I find where I went wrong, cut that scene or scenes, refresh my mental browser and start over with a blank page from that point. It's hard to push that delete button, but so worth the reward. Word count isn't what matters. They have to be the *right* words. For me, writer's block is my subconscious telling me I've screwed up and need to stop until I fix it.
