Lisa Gardner I'm trying to answer this question, but I think it's missing a word. Which character have I had the most ____ writing about? The most difficulty, the most fun? Book characters can go either way. D.D. has always come to me very naturally, maybe because I'm a workaholic, too. Tessa Leoni is more challenging. She's very closed up, due to both her background and her profession. I feel she keeps secrets even from me. It makes the writing process difficult, but also rewarding--those afternoons when I finally figure out what Tessa really did or how she really feels. I confess, I wrote LOVE YOU MORE as a love letter to my own daughter, which makes it the book closest to my heart. So Tessa will always be special to me.
