V.E.S. Pullen It was late at night, but the dog needed to go out; the yard was dark, and the neighborhood silent. I called out softly for him to come in, and as I passed by the side of the house, I noticed movement through the basement window; there was someone down there, and the stairs were between me and my sleeping husband.
