I think it's always the same. Read. And write. Read what you love, read some stuff that's not necessarily in your genre (and if you don't love that, don'e waste your time with it) and write, write, write. Other people's writing will teach you how to write. Do Not go to college to learn to write - your voice can get smashed too easily.
