Writer's block usually means I haven't delved into my characters' minds far enough to find out what they want (or think they want). So I typically step away from the laptop and do mindless activities where I can think, dream, create new situations for them.
For me, writer's block means I am trying to rush the story when it needs to unfold in its own time in my mind.
