Do you plan out your books, or just let the ideas come to you? How do you structure your writing process?

Josephine Angelini I plan out my books pretty meticulously. I do a thorough outline, character bios, the whole bit. Since I tend to write trilogies (so far, anyway) I also like to at least sketch out the ending of the last book before I start writing the first. Details always change along the way, but if I know what I'm writing toward, the story feels like it magically comes together at the end of the final book.
