I love to read your books! My favorite book so far that I have read by you is those fairy tale collection books!! I loved reading them and I will probably read them again!! If you ever do a contest to give away some of your books, is it possible for you to e-mail me?? (my email is [email protected]). Well. thanks again for the awesome books you write! But my question is how do you come up with your stories?
Melanie Dickerson
Hi, Natasha! That is a lovely name. I know a few other Natashas, including my agent!
My publisher is doing a giveaway right now for The Golden Braid! Here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sh...
And here is another giveaway I'm participating in: https://www.rafflecopter.com/rafl/dis...
You can also hear about any giveaways or sales by keeping up with me on facebook and twitter.
I come up with my stories by . . . I don't really know! I love taking a fairy tale and turning it into my own story. I also love taking characters I've already created and giving them their own story, paralleling a familiar fairy tale, but I don't know how to explain how I come up with them. The stories gradually form and morph and change as I mull them over in my mind. I don't usually remember how they came about, really.
Thanks for asking!

Hi Ms. Dickerson! I just finished The Golden Braid and I LOVED it! I wanted you to know that I used the book for my summer reading requirements at my new school! I also wanted to ask you if you had to any medevil research before you wrote the Hagenheim series, so you could know a bit more about the time period? I would just like to know because I am writing a book that is also set in the past!

Hi Ms. Dickerson! I'm so glad you write lovely, clean romances that Christian teens like me can enjoy without cringing! Each book is wonderful and what I love is that each book is different. How do you give each book a different feel and-in some ways-personality? A lot of books I've read that, like yours, follow one another but are not directly connected seem to repeat themselves. Thank you! Lauren
