Perform your book. Just like audio books. Get your book to that level of readability. I perform my books upwards, out loud, acting the parts out, upwards of twenty times before they go to publication. Some things sound right out loud that might not inside your head. Or vice versa. You're also looking for tone and pacing and cadence. I think it ultimately helps the reader to hear your words inside their head. A lot of my readers have expressed that they feel like they're in my books. I think this helps a book make a strong impression.
