I am working on a new fairytale-infused historical novel about the Pre-Raphaelite circle of artists and poets in mid-Victorian England. Hello! I just finished The Wild Girl and just have to say how amazing it was. It was raw and dark, yet beautiful. After reading this and your final notes, I was wondering how long it took for you to develop and write this story. This book holds so many deep layers, which I assume was extremely difficult. To me, Bitter Greens, The Beast's Garden, and The Wild Girl seem like they fit nicely into one subgenre of historical fiction while your children series seem like a totally different entity. Do you feel that way or do you think of those three and your children's books as one canon, if you will?
