Melanie Dickerson Hi, Elise! So happy you are enjoying my books! The Silent Songbird is a Little Mermaid retelling, a very loose retelling since the heroine is not actually a mermaid and doesn't live under the sea. :-) She lives in a castle as the ward of the King of England and is the target of anyone who might want to take the throne, since Evangeline is the granddaughter of a king and the cousin of the present king. Anyway, she is longing for freedom, just like in the Little Mermaid story, and to experience more of the world. I hope you will enjoy it!
