Tracey Garvis Graves:
Hello Tracey, If you were given a choice, whom would you pick out as leads for "On the Island"?

Hi, Krishna!
I imagine that casting the leads for the movie adaptation of On the Island will be very difficult for MGM and Temple Hill. My original casting choice for Anna and T.J. were Taylor Kitsch and Anne Hathaway (this was two years ago). A more recent (and probably much better!) casting choice for Anna is Minka Kelly from Friday Night Lights. I think she is absolutely beautiful. T.J. is a bit trickier because of the age difference. He'll need to be able to pull off a wider age range than Anna. I have a feeling the actor who will eventually be cast as T.J. is currently starring on one of the Disney shows my eleven-year-old daughter loves to watch (Austin and Ally, anyone?).
However, there are two roles I have cast and I will lobby hard for these actors if given a chance. John Goodman would be fabulous in the role of seaplane pilot Mick. And Ashton Kutcher would be wonderful as Anna's ex-boyfriend John (plus he's a native Iowan like me).
Who would you choose, Krishna?

Not really a question. I just have to tell you, how much I come back to think about your book "The Girl He Used To Know". I think, this is how my son thinks or I think he thinks! It was amazingly close to his autism ways. Shutting down, sleeping away, directness, etc. So now I think about Annika daily and think how I go about speaking to my son. I would love to know how you did your research to inside the asd mind??
