My favourite books include the Delirium trilogy, every Harry Potter, the Mortal Engines series, The Fault in Our Stars, The Edge Chronicles, The Book Thief, and the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.
I love a good YA urban fantasy or sci-fi, and everything I write is either of those :) I'm always open to a good contemporary though - love a fun, easy summer read!
Currently reading Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, and it is awesome.

You click the "Add book/author" button that's over the comment box, and make sure at the bottom the "cover" box is the one clicked and then you just type in the name of the book, and click "add" on the book you're looking for so that it'll show up in the comments :)

I'm Nicola, a YA reader & writer, in Melbourne, OZ.
Got hooked on YA a few years ago (favourites include Personal Demons by Lisa Desrocher, Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, Shade by Jeri-Smith Ready, Meridian by Amber Kizer...ok, I could go on forever!)
My YA debut is releasing in August, Banish (supernatural thriller) with Harlequin Teen. in 3 words? Wicca, spirits, murder!

And I'm still swooning because L.J. Smith read and loved it!
Great to be here :)

I feel a bit slack, as have had the invite for ages!
Between deadlines and kids and life, I need to make time to check my groups and stuff more often :)

Edward from Twilight is my favourite book boyfriend.
I'm always interested to see such a divided opinion between Edward and Jacob.
For me, it was clear from the start, Team Edward all the way :)

I look forward to enjoying conversations with other YA enthusiasts! :-)

Hi everyone! My name's Alpha. I've always loved reading, and over time I developed a love of writing as well. I write a lot and hope one day to get something published, but as of now I'm only fifteen and I'm not really concentrating on that. I write because I love to write, not for any other reason. Anyway. So I read a wide variety of stuff. Some of my favorite book/book series, not in any particular order:
Harry Potter, by J.K. Rowling
Percy Jackson & the Olympians, by Rick Riordan
The Seven Realms, by Cinda Williams Chima
Heroes of Olympus, by Rick Riordan
Gone, by Michael Grant
Void, by Rhiannon Lassiter
The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green
The Heir Chronicles, by Cinda Williams Chima
The Mortal Instruments, by Cassandra Clare
Warriors, by Erin Hunter
The Homelanders, by Andrew Klavan
Slammed, by Colleen Hoover
Legend, by Marie Lu
I should probably stop. I could go on and on but I'd be boring y'all.
Favorite tv shows? Hmmm....I was a big fan of Nickelodeon's Victorious but that ended...and I really loved Disney's The Suite Life on Deck and that's over too...ABC's Pretty Little Liars is pretty cool though I haven't watched much of it...I also like Disney's Austin & Ally, Shake it Up...and that's about it I think. Oh, and X Factor though I'm not sure if that gets classified under this. And the Ellen Show. Ellen is hilarious.
Favorite movies:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
The Lion King (I'm not ashamed to say it)
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
The Hunger Games
I'm not big on movies and tv shows, really. I usually do watch book-to-movie adaptations if I love the books, though.
Favorite singer/celebrity: Demi Lovato!
Anywho, this group looks like fun!

Hi Alpha! What a wonderful reading list. I'm really glad to hear you want to be a writer, and I think it's perfect that you write because you love to write. That's the best reason! I'm a writer, and I teach writing at a college, so I like knowing about young people who want to be writers. It's nice to meet you!
Hey Jill! Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm absolutely crazy about books, you see, I owe that to my mom. She's the one who got me hooked on books when I was really young. I've got such a wild imagination, and I love putting that on paper when I'm writing. And are you really? Maybe I could read some of your books?

Yes, I am really. I have three books published and a bunch of articles, although my books so far are all rather academic and serious. I will have a fantasy novel coming out before long. How about I send you the link when it's published?
Jill
That'd be great! I'll be sure to check out your writing. I'm always on the hunt for another good book! ^^

Great!
