Marguerite - I'm going to have the team judge on your first book being a blue cover. I don't see it, but someone else may have another opinion.
And sorry JAK is not your cup of tea, or at least this series. But the world is full of books!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Maybe because he is wearing a navy blue suit?

message 356: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Great reading, everyone!! I love seeing all the blue covers.

@Kat - several of the books you've read count for blue covers. Did you read any between Wed and Sun (midnight tonight)? Let me know!

@Rebecca - thanks for letting me know.

I finished For Darkness Shows the Stars (For Darkness Shows the Stars, #1) by Diana Peterfreund and I have to say if you are looking for a good YA novel, try this - especially if you are a Jane Austen fan. I was so pleasantly surprised by this.
I am now starting No Proper Lady (Englefield, #1) by Isabel Cooper and I'm hoping to get through it quickly because it's just "meh" so far.

I will post an update sometime today of what I have for everyone - probably in between football games. And of course Downton Abbey is on tonight!

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments I had my husband who wasn't aware of the challenge look at the book cover and I asked him what color the cover was. The first color he said was "blue" so I think we'll accept Grace and Power The Private World of the Kennedy White House by Sally Bedell Smith as a blue cover.

Thanks Lisa Kay and Rebecca! I'll go with that. I also asked my husband what color the cover is and he (being an engineer) said "what specifically on the cover are you looking at?" So he wasn't a big help.

message 359: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments I just finished my second blue cover: Wicked Business (Lizzy & Diesel, #2) by Janet Evanovich

Not a blue cover but I also just finished: Broken Harbor by Tana French

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Great job, Rebecca! I also threw a non-blue cover book in there yesterday! I read Hunting Julian (Gatherers, #1) by Jacquelyn Frank . It was an okay read.

I like her as well. I've been reading her Eternal Guardians series as well as her Stolen Trilogy. Both are very good and inexpensive as ebooks.
And I just finished Against the Wind recently. First time for that author. I thought it was pretty good. I look forward to hearing what you think.

message 365: by [deleted user] (new)

Leslie, Rebecca said Grace and Power is a blue cover. His suit is dark blue and there is a dark blue band at the top of the book.

message 366: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ I switched from Biting Cold (Chicagoland Vampires, #6) by Chloe Neill to Hidden Fire (Firefighters of Station Five, #3) by Jo Davis as it fits another of my challenges. Hope to finish it by tonight.

@ Gayle ~ glad you enjoyed Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton I'm slowly reading it on my phone as I have a few minutes here and there when I'm out and about. I'm enjoying it. I read the first of the Eternal Guardians series and really enjoyed that one as well.

message 367: by [deleted user] (new)

Rebecca and Leslie thank you for saying it is a blue cover. Just read it above.lol

Alley (alleycatfish) | 198 comments I'm sad that I don't have any blue books to read for the mini challenge. I finished 4 books this weekend, bringing my total to 21!

We will be doing another mini challenge soon so keep checking back :) And 21 books is an impressive number - a book a day!

Did you like Glazed Murder?

message 375: by Alley (new)

Alley (alleycatfish) | 198 comments I did like Glazed Murder. It's a bit too much like the Hannah Swenson series ( Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder (Hannah Swensen, #1) by Joanne Fluke ), but it was still a fun read. I put the rest of the series on my TBR. :)

message 376: by Rebecca NJ (last edited Jan 20, 2013 05:20PM) (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments The Hannah Swenson series is one I like to read when I need something light and fluffy. I'll have to check out this series too!

message 377: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments @Alley - way to go!! And no worries about the challenge. We will be doing others and you are doing great with your reading. Kate Daniels is one of my all time favorite series!

@Gen - I will put you down for 2 blue books. I've heard good things about Smoke and Bone.

@Tea - Yea!! Is the one you finished the Dean Koontz book? Or is it another one?

@Marguerite - Yes, I saw that the team agrees it is blue. I put it down. Have I missed any others of yours?

Great work, Team!!

message 378: by [deleted user] (new)

Sky Blue is cettainly a page turner. when I thought I had it all figured out things changed and were shocking in a way. The ending was very unexpected. A must read is Sky Blue!!!!

message 383: by [deleted user] (new)

Did anyone get 4 or more blue books read? If not how will a winner be decided from so many that read 3 blue books?rofl Everyone did a great job!!!!

message 384: by [deleted user] (new)

Rebecca and Leslie my tower team box says I read 10 books when my last book Sky Blue by Travis Thrasher made 11 books read. My shelf dor Tower team shows 11 books read now as well but not my tower team box does not. thank you.

Just now started The Complete Short Stories by Mark Twain .

Not sure what this means, Marguerite. I see 11 books for you. Or are you talking about a spreadsheet of somekind?

message 387: by [deleted user] (new)

Lisa for a long time it said 10 then it finally said 11 books. Usually it changes fast, it was slow this time.lol sorry.

Ah! Sunday night sluggishness. LOL! Okay, as long as you're happy.

message 389: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments Marguerite, we are still determining how to select the winner. It might be done with a random drawing from the group that read 3 covers. I don't believe we had anyone who read 4.

As far as your book total updates, there is sometimes a small delay from the time you add a book to your tower shelf until GR catches up.

message 390: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Good morning, Team D!! I am going to update everything and post all the books. It looks like we have a few with 3 books. I was reading #4 and fell asleep after Downton Abbey and didn't finish until this morning LOL!

I am so impressed with all the books that were read! Amazing job, Team!!

message 391: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Okay, just updated the list. Participants can find it here
Blue Cover Challenge List of Books

I will wait a little longer and see if anyone else updates the books they finished yesterday. But so far we are in a three-way tie for 1st place between Marguerite, Gayle and Jane!! Great reading, Ladies.

message 392: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments You could do a page count of those who tied...

message 393: by Donna (new)

Donna Wolczyk | 75 comments I just finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn . I gave it 3 stars, but I am still on the fence about it overall. I'm sorry I couldn't participate in the Blue Cover mini challenge. Hopefully I can work the next one in. I am constantly amazed at how quickly some of you guys read!!! Holy cow!!! Off to do some housework while I ponder what to read next!! :)

message 394: by ~Leslie~ (new)

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 2240 comments Lisa Kay wrote: "You could do a page count of those who tied..."
Oh, that's a great idea, Lisa Kay!! That must be why you get paid the big bucks. I think that's what I'll do.

message 395: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Hello everyone :) I've been really sick so I'm sorry for my absence here. Over the weekend, I read A Boy Called Duck Tape by Christopher Cloud which was surprisingly good. I gave in 4 stars it was really good for a free e-book. I got tired of Shiver so I'm putting that one down for a while (I swap in and out of books a lot). Today I've been reading Gossip Girl (Gossip Girl, #1) by Cecily von Ziegesar and I LOVE IT. I wouldn't be surprised if I finish that one tonight. Then I plan on diving into the second book.
