"We could head into the city... I haven't been there in years." Ford finished his lunch. "Well al least for things other than battles."

"Sounds great! I haven't been into the city for years." Ford finished his lunch. "Well except for battles anyways."

"Battles don't count mate. How long since you last went to a pub or even to the movies?"

"About a year and a half. Slightly less. It was right before the, um, accident." Ford lifted his legs to adjust their position in the chair.

"Yeah I'm calling a jailbreak. Let's get you or of here."

"you know I can just leave..." Ford laughed.

"Sure. But that wouldn't be as much fun."

"Haha. I guess I'll just follow your say, then."

Ford looked down At his raggedy clothes, he needed to change if he was going into a city. "Give me a minute to get dressed." Ford smirked before going back to his room. He pulled himself onto his bed. He had figured out how to dress himself, but it was still difficult. Ford put on a tshirt and jacket, as well as jeans to hide the frailness of his body and the backbrace. He went back into the hallway to find Brad.

Brad had found his way back to his room and changed into a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. He had snagged his leather jacket on his way out and headed back to the hall. Once he got there he transformed himself into a golden retriever and waited.

Ford laughed. "That is pretty awesome."

Brad didn't stop there. He transformed into a parrot and flew up onto the arm of the wheelchair.

"Okay but why?"

Brad hopped down and transformed back to normal. "Because I can and I wanted to test out the new animals I had seen recently. What is your favorite animal on the whole world?"

"Not sure. I guess snakes are cool."

Brad nodded in approval and started walking toward the way outside.

Ford followed him in his wheelchair. He hoped that he looked somewhat decent.

Ford was exhausted. It wasn't very late, but going all around the city had drained him of energy.

Brad came in behind him and took off his jacket. "I had fun. Thanks for coming with me."

"Thanks for making me go. I don't exactly go out that much." Ford went back to his room and fell asleep.

Brad smiled and went back to his room.

Ford woke up in the middle of the night, coughing violently. He leaned over on his side, trying to breath, but continued to cough. The taste of iron entered his mouth.

Brad had just been starting to fall asleep when he heard a noise down the hall. He rushed towards the sound and knocked on the door. "Is everything ok in there?"

Ford couldn't breath. He passed out.

Brad opened the door and rushed over to Ford. He checked his vitals and, noticing that he had stopped breathing, started giving him mouth to mouth resuscitation.

Ford began breathing, but it sounded like there was fluid in his lungs. His breath was uneven and fast.

Brad was relieved when he started breathing but freaked out a bout the sound of it. He tried to remember what he was supposed to do in that situation as he called for help.

A doctor came into the room and took Ford to the hospital. She put him on breathing support. A machine pumped air into his body as Ford laid there, still unconscious.

Brad got to the hospital and asked to see him. He didn't want to have Ford wake up alone.

The doctor let Brad in. They were still running tests in him.

Brad sat in a chair out of the way and watched silently. He waited to hear results.

The doctor read a few notes. "He's going to be okay for now, but if we don't get him moving more his condition will worsen."

"But he's paralyzed. How are we going to get him moving?"

"Certain Exercises. We can also try crutches and such."

Brad didn't know Ford very well but he didn't think he would mind any of that too much. "Ok. Thank you Doctor."

"No problem." She left. Half an hour later Ford woke up.

"Hey mate. How are you feeling?"

Ford laughed. "As good as I look." Two nurses helped him back into his wheelchair. The hospital gown showed his stick thin legs. Ford's calves were smaller than his wrists. They had also put the chest brace back on him, claiming it would help with his breathing. Ford left the hospital to check in with the physical therapist.

Brad followed close behind. "You don't actually look that bad all things considered."

"Thanks... I guess..."

Brad shook his head and sighed. His awkwardness was starting to get on his nerves. That hadn't come out right and he felt like he had just made Ford feel worse.

"Hey don't worry about me, by the way. I really am fine."

"Yeah I know."

Ford went into the therapist. A single-sided conversation ensued with the therapist going over everything that Ford needs to do to stay in shape. He kinda drowned her out after a while.

After a while she helped ford into the harness. His legs were becoming increasingly thinner and less muscular, as well as his chest. "Breath deeply." She told him as she put her hands on Ford's chest and felt him breath slightly raspily. "We need to get you moving." She spoke as she grabbed something that looked like his chest brace, but it fit around his body and legs. The joints were articulated, but also fixed. She strapped it around him loosely and pressed a button. A green light lit up on the side and the brace fit itself to him automatically. "What is this?" Ford wasn't sure if this was good or not. "It will assist you when using these." She gave him a fancy looking pair of crutches. "It isn't perfect but when you use the crutches, the legs should more too." Ford leaned onto the crutches as the harness released. He tried moving the crutch and his leg moved as well. It was slow, uncomfortable, and ridiculous looking, though. He took a few steps around the room before being helped back into the wheelchair. "You need to be coming here daily, as well as working out and swimming. But good job, Ford." She smiled as he mumbled 'thanks' and left. He waved halfheartedly at Brad, who had been waiting outside.

Brad fell into step next to him. "So how did it go?"

"Fine I guess. I just have to waste more of my time 'getting better.' Even though I won't get any better." Ford groaned.
