Friday is the night I allow myself a little tipple. If you listen carefully at around 6.30pm you can hear the gin hitting the ice here in Poynton!

Hi, folks, I'm back, and thanks to the other Mods for keeping an eye on everyone! Looks like you all do just fine without me...hmmm. I'll take a look at where we stand some time today...

Round One ends in a couple of days (March 30). I show that we still need five reviews, from Marie-Anne, Suzanne, Mona, Harsh, and Joelle.

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'VE MISSED ONE OF THESE. I try to keep track as things are posted, but I do miss one once in a while.

We've got a good start on Round Two with five reviews for that round already posted.

Did you know that Amazon has just bought Goodreads?
Early indications are that this will be a good thing for Indie writers but those of us who rely on other non-Amazon platforms might find things a bit tougher.

I feel like I am having the same experience. Is it that no one is listed? or that no one has asked you for your book. It could be my bad memory (which is pretty bad) but it seems like no one has asked for mine. I guess I am supposed to pursue the readers, but I've been so busy I haven't done it. At least I am taking care of reading and writing the reviews I am supposed to do, at this point that's all I can accomplish here. I can't chase down the people who are supposed to review mine.

Anthea - you should contact those who are to review you if no one's contacted you. I see that Alison has already reviewed you (Round 2) and Harsh is due to review you for Round 1. Please see if you can get ahold of Harsh & offer your book.

Been on Holiday but back now and have been reading my round 2 book.
There seems to be a lot gone on since I've been away.

Has anyone looked into the ACX audio-book production arm of Amazon? It seems to suggest that you can produce an audio book with NO up-front costs if you choose to share any royalties 50/50 with the producer but it seems unlikely to me that any producer or narrator will do the work for nothing. While I might believe in my books and write them on spec, surely they wouldn't?

I have heard from Mona. She is struggling with her WiFi and so her R1 review will be delayed and also she isn't able to check in to the group as often as she would like.

Hey all. touching bases. Hoping to finish up with Tony's book and get on to my round 3 book. Don't ever remember whose that is. I came down with a particularly bad dose of the flu a week ago and I'm still trying to get better

I found out that ATM this is not available to non US writers like us Ali. However in reply to my enquiry they asked me to email their international partners division. So perhaps it is in the offing.

Hope you're feeling better, H.R.! Anthea has finished all her reviews, so it's possible she's not checking her Goodreads mail as often - keep trying and let me know if you don't get anything from Harsh.

Apologies for the delay on my part. I am swamped with work and my kindle is having some issues. I'll get back to the reviews asap. I have replied to everyone's emails.
